Newb question about watching movies

I'm new to android and the prevail. I know there are problems with flash, but how about watching videos that are in .avi format. Do I need a player. Any recommendations?

That works too but converting files can take a long time depending on the size of the file, the software you're using and your computer's specs.

Thanks, originally I uploaded some other player that didn't work. Mobo is working great.
