extended battery in EVO 3D?

ahh i wish there was a otterbox for the extended battery .. or sum kinda of case to .. sorry to be picky but my reg evo .. dropped and the screen cracked cause there wasnt no . case for the extended battery

Trident Case makes a awesome extended battery case called the "Electra" Series. It is a 2800 mAh battery with the heavy duty case. Similar to the Defender series, due to the durableness and built-in screen protector. Had this on my EVO 4G before getting the 3VO and I loved it.

I have contacted them about something similar for the 3VO and they said it was "In the making..." So fingers crossed!

I ordered a bundle set off of amazon. The battery is made by laza. I got two batteries and a charging dock for 39.99. I usually always get an extended battery for these phones. I think this is the way to go. Its cheaper and you don't have to have the ugly pertrusion off the back of the phone. Just change it out when one is done.

Also, this extended battery will be pretty awkward in my opinion due to the location of the battery. Do a search on that battery set on amazon.

After one day, I would highly recommend this battery set. The laza battery actually lasted longer than my stock HTC batter after just one full charge. The dock Is also nice,it has a usb port at the bottom so you can charge your phone while one of the other batteries is charging. It also comes with a nice little case to keep the extras in.

I usually buy an extended battery for these phones. I think this is a better route because It's cheaper, you have more life with the extra batteries, and the look of your phone doesn't change.

We will have cases for our Innocell 3400mAh and 4000mAh Extended Life Batteries in the coming weeks!

Any updates? I'm getting ready to order a case for my E3D, and I want one with a kickstand, so will the Seidio case for the extended batteries have a kick stand?

I got my Seidio 4000mah today and they make a bunch of cases for it, but none have a kickstand. They said they don't have plans to make one either, which is lame.

I received my 4000 mA this afternoon. First impressions, based on less than half an hour since opening the package include:

1) This is indeed a big battery. The wisecracks that appeared in comments such as "Baby got back!" and "But she has a great personality" when the first photos of this battery were released are totally justified. Side-by-side with my E4G and the Seidio extended battery for that phone, the E3D extended battery combo looks significantly larger. Of course, the cutout for the camera is larger on this phone. Other than looking slightly odd, that doesn't really matter. Of course, I don't carry my phone to look at it (display excepted). This is going to increase the bulk of the phone in my front pants pocket, though I don't think it will be unacceptably bulkier.

2) Fit of the replacement phone back is excellent. I think it may be easier to snap on and off than the OEM back shell. There are no excessive gaps or irregularities in the fit onto the phone. There is a nice grippy coating on the back that appears identical to that on my E4G extended battery back. It should make the phone fairly secure in handling. I don't think it looks as nice or distinctive as the hatching on the OEM back but again I did not buy my phone nor the battery for their looks.

3) The on-off button (technically I suppose it is the "sleep" button) is replaced along with the back. This is very different than the OEM button, which I considered too easy to press by accident, and mushy to boot. The new button takes some force to press. More force than ideal, but it is usable. I'll like not accidentally sleeping the phone, but it does mean you really have to have a good grip and PRESS the button (just squeezing hard with the index finger is enough) to start the phone.

4) On initially installing the new battery and back, I was alarmed when the phone seemed to hang during startup, showing the "Sprint" graphic on a white background. I removed the battery and reinstalled it, and the same thing happened. But I found that clicking the power button on and off started the phone moving along normally. The phone turns on and off normally once you get past this, including actually shutting off if you press it and hold it down.

I'll second all of that except it's a little more difficult to get the new backing off of the phone, which is ok by me, cause there's certainly no risk of it coming loose accidentally. :)

So far I like it, though I haven't had it for long. I'll keep everyone posted.

i would prefer just to have an extended battery i would hate to carry a spare or a charger. but thats the reason i was asking because the cameras placement would make it odd where there would be an extra weight and bulge in the back of the phone.
seidioonline.com

Seido has extended life batteries, "shipping soon," and this is just one of the ones available...

Has anyone tried any of the ebay extended batteries? Im tempted but Im pretty sure I will regret it. I just dont want to dish out $80 for a sedio.

I say IMO you pay for what you get when it comes to batteries

No experience with the extended batteries but the three replacement batteries I did get from ebay work great.

Just remember that there's nothing guaranteeing that the advertised capacity on the label is the actual capacity of the battery.

This is true of ebay batteries as well as branded batteries like SEIDIOs.

The listed numbers on batteries are almost always the total power output under very preferable (or theoretical numbers using ideal) conditions, assuming perfect transference of power and no cell degradation... etc etc etc.

I used ebay batteries on my Evo 4G. They worked great.

As other stated, you get what you pay for. Although mine worked great, they started to expand after 6+ months. I noticed it when I couldn't get the battery out of the Evo 4G without prying it out with a butter knife.

Just be careful, pay attention to the batteries, you don't want a $5 ebay item ruining your $500+ phone.

The batteries I got off of eBay for my EVO worked great also. Never had a problem with them. I bought some for my EVO 3D, they don't seem to last as long as the oem battery that came with the phone. I ordered the 1850mah three pack. I just ordered the 2000mah the other day. I haven't received them yet. I hope they work better than the 1850mah.

I bought batteries of Ebay, and after I pulled sticker of the back of it, it says 1000mah instead 1800mah.

I hope you get your money back and leave neg feedback for that seller, assuming they knowingly misrepresented those batteries. It might save people like me trouble in the future.

Go to amazon.com and check out laza wireless battery bundle. Its two extra batteries and an external charger for $39. I always went the extended battery route In the past. I like this much better. I have two fully charged batteries waiting. You get much longer life this way, and you don't have to give your phone an obesity problem :)

I'm very happy with the purchase.

They...expanded? Were they puffy/soft/squishy? And they did not leak/explode/catch on fire?

You, sir, are lucky. You should also dispose of them (properly) as soon as possible. They are structure fire/lost appendage waiting to happen. Even a depleted battery can explode or catch fire.

Yeah as soon as I realized they were getting puffy on me, and getting wedged in the phone, I disposed of them.
