How to transfer contacts from DHD to Sensation with only one SIM card

Hi guys,

Although i loved my DHD i recently had to change phone companies and i had the oportunity to upgrade, so i thought i might as well upgrade to Sensation.

But i have a problem, the Sensation came without a SIM-card so i couldn't use the data transfer app...

So my question is: How do i transfer my contacts from my DHD to my Sensation with only one SIM card?

I hope this is not too stupid a question. :(
 
You can use your DHD without a SIM. With both phones on, you could transfer your contacts via BT.

Well i gotta try running my DHD without a SIM card then.

But thinking about it, i would like to have a backup of alle my contacts on google, i case i wreck my sensation. But when i acces my gmail account on my laptop it does not so all the contacts i have on my phone (although it is the same account, because i can check my mail).

Have i maybe forgot to activate som feature on my phone?
 
Go to the people app on your dhd and hit the menu button on your dhd and select import/export and then select export to sim. Then put the sim card in your sensation and import the contacts.

Open the people app, hit menu -> Import/Export -> Export to SD Card. It will create a .vcf file in the root of your SD Card. Copy the .vcf file to your PC. On the PC, open up the gmail account associated with your phone, hit Contacts -> More Actions -> Import -> then select the vcf file you just copied to your PC.
 
Alright so i transfered the contacs from my DHD to my Sensation via the Transfer data function. But it did not only copy my contacts on the phone, but also lots of my Facebook contacts phone numbers, which i don't want in my peoples list. They were all simply labeled 'phone'. Also many people came in in multiple copies.

Is there any way to prevent this?
 
Have you synched the sensation to your Facebook for HTC Sense account yet?

If you do that, you should get the option to link all the contacts so if you have a John Smith on your phone and are friends with him on Facebook, it should link them all together so they appear as one.
 
Open App draw Settings>Accounts and sync>you should see your google account>select it check sync contacts is checked if it isn't check it, if it is and you cant see your contacts in google check the date on your phone it last sync'd
