Root Annoying keyboard problem - can I fix this??

I've recently swapped to the Oxygen ASOP ROM and installed the HTC_IME mod and the Clicker_hi mod to enable the phone keypad predictive text method of typing (fingers too fat for the qwerty keyboard you see! )

My problem is though, whenever I type a single letter and choose it from the list at the top, the program automatically puts a space after it assuming I'm going to start another word! This is becoming very annoying - its handy when I AM typing another word but sometimes I'm just spelling a word thats not in the dictionary and I have to faff around deleting the space!?!?!

Is there any way round this?? (it didnt do this when I was on the stock HTC ROM!)
