Root LeeDrOiD GB V3.2.0 - 2.6.35.13 BFS (Brain xxxx CPU Scheduler) (FTP)

Hi

Just a quick question to find out if I need to install the above CPU Scheduler?

I am currently running the latest Leedroid ROM 3.3.1.

If I do install it, what are the benefits if any?

Compared to CFS (completely fair scheduler) I believe it allocates more resources to foreground apps and less to background ones.

However, I always fond bfs kernels a bit stuttery. Maybe that's just me, but I prefer CFS.

So would I gain any advantage in flashing any of these?

If it helps improve the performance of my DHD, then I would go ahead and do it.

I think its good for games/other intensive apps, but I've never found it to be worth it.

There's no harm in trying it out yourself though.
 
Keep the CFS kernel as the latest build uses it by default. So the BFS scheduler can be classed as EXPERIMENTAL. Personally having been running the BFS scheduler up until this recent build and having now gone back to CFS. I'd concur with Xyro that it is the most efficient and smooth kernel between the two. Oh and not only that but I've never had my phone die to the point that I couldn't turn it on even for it to shut itself down again on CFS. I mean completely drain the battery. Which is what happened with the BFS kernels.
 
Any way to switch from bfs to cfs without reflashing a whole new version of leedroid? I've gone bfs and wanna go cfs but don't wanna have to wipe and reinstall all the apps and stuff :(
 
I don't use leedroid so I don't know how he organises things, but usually you can flash a kernel without any kind of wipe. Do a nandroid backup though of course.
 
Just download and flash the kernel as you would a ROM in clockwork.

But in general, upgrading from 1 version of LeeDroid to another doesn't require a full wipe.
