Root How to stop lag?

I was playing "moonchaser" with my friend and he was a newer version of a droid and he was saying how laggy my phone is How can I change the lag of it? I am currently running Condemned v7, I plan on running v11 as soon as possible, thanks

What setting do you have for your max processor speed? The phone will probably be laggy no matter what with most games. If your processor is set lower than 710, you could try boosting it up to that number to see if it helps any.

For the most part, get a new phone. The Eris hardware mix is now about two years old - the first GSM Hero was released in June 2009, and the Eris has the exact same hardware specs (with the minor addition of a proximity sensor.)

unfortunately,yes... comdemned cm7 is by far the smoothest,most consistent rom ive run on my eris to date. it scrolls the homescreens smoothly,opens/closes the app drawer smoothly,opens apps smoothly... and hasnt really slowed down over time like other roms.

i get a bit of lag when opening certain things,like the weather from my beautiful widgets weather widget. and like metl said,most games are gonna be somewhat laggy as well. unfortunately,no rom is going to update the hardware

I can't help but feel that the only reason Iphones are more popular is because their so smooth, even with all the bugs they have

Also keep in mind that the Eris wasn't even supposed to be able to run froyo, let alone gb..

I wouldn't say iPhones are more popular at the moment . The new android phones, IMHO, offer a whole lot more than any iPhone . As stated before the Eris was not intended to run the games that are on the market today.

That's like trying to run the latest games you use on Windows 7 or Vista and trying to install it on a Windows 3.1 machine.

We should be very grateful devs , such as CS. was able to get GB to run on these Weenies . Is there a developer who has installed ios 4 on a iPhone 3? IDK.

Good point, the newest phone I've actually had my hands on is my mom's Incredible 2, I thought the Iphone was better then that phone though

iPhone has about 25% of the phone market, BB another 20-25%, Android the rest. Anyway, I went from a rooted Eris to a now rooted Dinc2. The speed increase from rooted Eris to DInc2 stock was amazing. I can't remember what ROM i ended with on the Eris but I was having issues with HUGE lag when trying to make phone calls. Like a 30 second to a minute for the call to start from the time I hit the call button. Any idea if a diff ROM could speed this up? I ask cause this phone is going to a different family member and this is a huge annoyance. Was worse unrooted.

Install the latest version of Condemned CM7. There is a thread for this ROM on this board. It won't eliminate all lag for you, but I do think it is the best ROM for this phone currently available. The developer posts here regularly and responds to questions quickly. Currently, I'm experiencing no lag at all but I installed the latest version Friday after a full wipe (which always speeds the phone up).

Sometimes I think the reason we rooted users have better performance from our phones is that we factory wipe the phone frequently to try out new ROMS. While it's a pain to do the wipe, it always results in a zippy phone at least for a while.

I was using xtrSENSE earlier this week and have had to stop for good because I realized that trying to make calls was impossible - that lag is awful, and I ended up accidentally calling my wife's phone five times because it was sensing each touch after a 30 second or so delay.

Any of the GB ROMs will be better; Condemned is fine, though I am running GSB at the moment and call lag does not exist.

i have the samsung skyrocket. for the first month everything was smooth. i down loaded ADW launcher a believe scrolling between desktop screens became even smoother. a few days ago i purchased widget locker lockscreen and there a stutter now when i scroll.

i have 2 widgets on my desktop- evernote and NOLED. i also have a little more than 5 screens of apps and have customized 90% of the icons.

is there anything i can do to get a smoother scroll? or is this the price of customizing my phone?
