Root GB miui 2.3.5

Just tried to update to 21 but it said signature verification failure, even though its signed, so I turned verification off, installed the update but on boot it stuck at the s-off screen for about 10 minutes so I pulled the battery and restored. Is that normal? For it to stick at s-off I mean.

Its a known problem on XDA! Ducky/Phil you guys should read comments from the last 2/3 pages on XJ's thread before you install anything that will save you plenty of hassles in the future ;) Besides v.1.7.21 is not an official update from MIUI.

has anyone tried using the miui rom downloader from the market as it say ver 1.7.22 is now avalible

That app has links to MIUIandroid roms you can install it if you want but I wouldnt recommend them mainly cos they have problems with language packs! But if you cant wait for XJ to update his I would suggest you to install it fresh..

Going to give it a go now, hope it goes ok.

Will the update work from 1.7.15 to 1.7.22
and what is the difference

Yeah it should work. Download from "system updater" app! No real difference between the two just stability and bug fixes.

guess what it didnt work stuck on HTC screen, im going to try downloading from xda and trying that way

Thats weird. Noone has complained on XDA so far. Did you download the correct version? Sometimes A2sd version isnt available right away you have to watch out for those things! YOu might have downloaded teh Xpart version which has different kernel on it which is probably why it didnt boot...

im going to try one more time.
Starting with factory reset
Recovery from 22.07.11
then install add on
then try update
one last time

I used the cm update this time but it still failed Sig verification, so I turned it off and it booted no probs, just got to make a backup and ill try the status bar mod.

Ive just installed v.1.7.22 myself and just like you the verification failed but toggling it off worked.

I downloaded it from xda and it works fine, i think i must of downloaded the wrong one with system update but everything i think i will have to add the 4 way reboot and the other stuff

The deal breaker for me was the market! It wouldnt let me install my beloved black themed market. I tried to install it in few different ways but the new market kept coming back! Before any of you say anything I removed the market updater too!

The sliding toggles in personal/system/application are all round now I prefered the old sliding block toggles. Dont like the homescreen dotted page indicator at the bottom of screen either they remind me of samsung!

Downloaded MIUI this weekend and then updated to the latest 1.7.22.

I really like this ROM so far, and I haven't even messed with themes/lock screens etc. Its very customisable and lots of menu options to tweak everything.

It looks great, and is fast and stable (no issues so far anyway). Battery life seems ok too (currently 60% after 7.5 hours off charge - with light use but had runkeeper on for an hour).

The lack of app drawer is no big deal, just bunged most of them into a folder - I have my most used apps on the homepage anyway.

I have just came from leeDroid, then Redux (both of which were good) - but I'm liking MIUI the most thus far.
