Is this battery consumption normal?

After I updated to the new HTC release over the weekend (is it 2.5.405?) I've noticed my battery life has been shockingly poor.

On the normal Gingerbread release I could easily get a day's usage out of the phone with 3G and WiFi on most of the day.

Today though, back in work, when I left the office at 4pm I only had 30% left - normally at this time I have 50-60% left.

I've taken some screen shots using MyPhoneExplorer and just wondered if someone can tell me what is normal or if this is..

I'm slightly concerned about the amount of power the dialler has used even though it has only been active to 12 seconds!

I found the uk 3g survey uses a lot of battery, it keeps my phone awake for large amounts of time but I'm persevering since it's only til the end of the month.
The dialer seems to have sent quite a bit of data as well, mine does that occasionally but I'm not sure what it is exactly, maybe facebook contacts updating or something?
Anyway, to me that doesn't look too bad with both of those taken into consideration, I'd say it's just a fluke that you got both on the same day. However, if you find it does the same for a few days, try uninstalling the 3g survey, and see if that takes it back to normal.

I'm sure I read the dialer thing can be resolved by turning off "Flip for speaker".

I don't believe it is a real battery killer, HTC just downplayed the way it reported battery consumption in previous ROMs.

I've downloaded the new 3g app today which, according to the change log on the market, significantly reduces battery consumption.

I'll see how it goes tomorrow and if no better I'll uninstall it.

How do I disable flip for speaker? Cart find it anywhere in the settings!

I have removed the UK 3g survey from my phone. It is constantly looking for a satellite fix and was just draining the battery. Went from a good 24/36 hours moderate usage to less than 6!!

I got rid of this app because of the battery drain. I had GPS turned off too, but it was constantly keeping the phone awake to watch the data connection, so was using 20% of the battery

The first version did that, but the update was a lot better. Just a shame they didn't perfect it before general release, it would be good to have a true map rather than the network ones. Like I said before, if it was for any longer I'd probably have uninstalled, but since it's only til the end of the week I'm persevering!

I think there are some good points raised in the link. I certainly wasn't aware of the bandwidth issue.

I still think coverage is an issue - especially where I live. We need to get as close to, if not 100% of the UK on a stable 3g connection. Then the bandwidth issues can be addressed and if 4g is the way forward then yes.

If the current blackspot issues are not resolved, then once again we have the situation where the only place to use these smart phones will be the major cities and the rest of us might as well go back to using WAP.
