Root miui hard button problem

I've been running miui for a couple of days and love it. The only problem I've found so far is that I have to press one of the four hard buttons two or three times before the phone recognizes it. I've flashed the patch and got the camera working but it didn't help the buttons. So far this is the only rom I've flashed that's caused this. Any ideas?

Have you tried CM7? It does the same thing; since MIUI is based off CM7, I am not surprised it happens.

No fix for it yet, as far as I know.

If you look at the logcat it says something about unused definitions when you press the button and it doesn't work (on CM7 and MIUI). For me, I find it only happens maybe one out of every 5-10 presses, so it's not too bad and I usually only have to press it once more.

It may just be in my head, but I find that a firm press on the button (that is, holding it down for a brief second rather than a light press) tends to yield better results. Strictly anecdotal, though.

Yeah. It doesn't happen every time, maybe one in three. Funny you say that about the firm button press because I've thought the exact same thing but with my particular phone it seems to make no difference.

I had that problem with the froyo OTA and all of the custom froyo roms too. I'm pretty sure the problem went away with GB OTA and its roms.

I think that since we're running CM7 and MIUI from the froyo kernel the problem is back. I bet if someone figures out how to use 2nd-init with Gb, the problem will go away. That's my guess.
