Two questions about TapFish

Is there a way to make the game full screen on the Zoom, Taz?

Edit: 'Scuse me--Xoom. Auto-correct didn't like that :p

Taz, welcome!

Some interesing observations regarding the Xoom. I would've thought that fish would be larger.

However, most of your complaints apply to the phone version too -- especially the placement of the pointer/food/clean/buy button. I've wasted several hard-earned fishbucks by purchasing duplicate fish that I didn't need.

I've also noticed that when I clean a neighbor's tank or feed their fish and go back in, it doesn't update to show a clean tank and fed fish. I suspect that you doing something for your neighbor doesn't actually clean their tank or update their fish.

To test this out, I am leaving one of my tanks uncleaned - the last tank, "Antennas". If somebody goes in and cleans it, please leave me a message here and I'll go and check whether it's clean or not.

Taz, I also checked out your tanks. I don't see any decorations in your green snapper tanks. (I see a couple which are off screen so maybe you have more on your Xoom that I can't see.) Remember you need decorations to raise your decorations to 90%+ in order to get the 20% bonus coins when selling your fish.

Tip -- you have to have a mixture of plants and other decorations becaue just having one type limits you to 11% extra (I think an empty tank starts at around 76% -- but I'm not really sure). I learned this from this forum.

Thanks....and no, my tank is still dirty. So I guess that cleaning your neighbors tank doesn't really clean it but does earn you a couple of coins.

That is interesting to know--especially if someone were planning to have a friend tend their tanks while they are on vacation:/

I guess you mean the 3/8" bar at the bottom with the time and battery status on the right hand side. That's there no matter what - even with Netflix (yes there's a version on Netflix working on Xoom now!) You need the bar to Navigate w/ Honeycomb as Honeycomb devices don't come w/ a bar of default buttons like most phones do, so it consumes a very small part of the screen. :o

Thanks for the feedback. The decorations and plants are there. Take a look at Pic #2 that I posted at the bottom of the previous page (post #300 of the thread) Look in the lower left and you'll see 11 Starfish and 5 plants - just enough so that with a little love you get to 91% which is the magic number from what I've read.

It also explains why the vast majority of tanks I've visited had all their stuff crammed into a space about the size of my phone screen (about 10% bigger ;) )

I can do the option of Zoom to fill screen (instead of stretch to fill screen which is the default where only the background is stretched for TapFish), then it's basically just a direct scaling of phone's view (i.e. fish are bigger on screen and but everything as that scaled / poorer quality image look to it.) This does have the advantage that the pointer button is now fairly large.

One final thing, last night I found that the Crocodile Dragon Fish is being sold for 0 F$, that's 5600 coin as adults w/o bonus in 2 days. Not sure if it's cheating but I'm buying these bad boys up. ;) I looked on my phone and it shows it as 28 F$

Darn...I missed out on the Crocodile Dragons! :(

That's weird, Taz. I'm looking at your Breeders tank on my phone and there are absolutely no decorations. It's not that they are off screen because I can see the whole driftwood all the way to the bottom, where the decorations should have been.

On Sellers, I see one plant in the bottom left; In Grower, I see the tops of two plants in the bottom left. That's all. No starfish in any tank.

It looks like the Crocodile thing is only on my Xoom as I see it normal price on my phone. The Xoom stretches the background to the full size of whatever screen, but if I place plants outside of the upper left quadrant you won't see it on your phone (but the background is rescaled to show full background in either mode.) If I change my Xoom to not stretch they don't show up where I placed them either, but the background is still full screen. I'm attaching a pic from your 'Swords' tank here so you can see what it looks like and the area that get's mapped on the phone vs tablet.

I sold a bunch of 1/4 mature croc's this morning and maxed out my tanks to 9 tanks and filled several tanks w/ crocs as I'm not sure how long this glitch will last. I figured I'd build up some coin reserves and work on Exp - at lvl 9 currently.

I wish there was a way to auto populate the tanks or buy things in bulk. It's a pain to populate a tank especially as it only let's you get so far ahead in taps and the Android version apparently doesn't recognize multi-point taps (i.e. can't do a 4 finger tap 13 times to populate tank.)

Thanks for the picture - I see what you mean -- on your screen all my decorations are in the middle of the tank instead of on the floor!

I have no problem buying in bulk. I "tickle" the screen with four fingers and it just takes a few seconds to fill the tank. The feeding is a little slower because it takes some fish a while to find the food.

UPDATE: Barracuda tanks cost 1127000 (1,140,000 if you don't use algea eaters) bulk sale is 1.5 mil and some change. So about 400k in 8 days per tank depending on the level requirements this might be the best money fish for lower levels or at least worth it to have two cuda tanks with eggs dropped 4 days a part to supplement loss of income for XP on 24hour fish like banded butterfly, chromis, and that ugly orange fish. Or regular snapper rotation.

Sincerely,

Your friendly neighborhood tapfish accountant, AntarRSB

Barracuda is a good coin fish but I'd never sell in bulk. If you sell individually, the tank sells for 1,835,400 for a profit of 685,400. If you sell them bulk, you'll lose 275,310! They take 6 days to grow so you need patience.

My fishwhine for today: 60 fishbucks for one breedable fish is too much. To actually buy that many FB, you'd have to pay $9.99 for 115 FB ($4.99 only gets you 55). That's a ridiculous amount for a game.

It's taking me forever to earn the 60 FB for the latest by downloading apps that I don't particularly want (although there are some that I have actually liked) and half the time I don't get the FBs. So far, the developers have come through when I've complained, but it's a pain.

The cost of backgrounds is even more ridiculous, which is why I don't have any that cost fishbucks (well, I might have bought some of the ones that were on sale when I had the Fishbuck windfall from Netflix).

Personally I am enjoying tanking up on royals, doesn't take long to sell them and I'm taking a break from my experience run I had. Feeding others fish will not save them, cleaning is the same. There is a 2 hour estimated window to show changes to others as you commit new things to your tanks. I am just taking it easy and enjoying the game. Anyone may add me as a friend as Witches.

Well I guess that's the downside of doing it on the Xoom. For some reason it's not noting the multi-touch in TapFish, and it spawns a new fish about once a second, and it only queue's up about 10 or so at a time. Taking almost a minute to repopulate a tank.

Now feeding them only takes me a few seconds. I rapid tap back and forth across the screen, moving downwards as I go.

P.s. 1.5 million is alot for that ugly fish lol

Yeah...Not sure but I think I'd have to sell off a couple of tanks of mature swords just to buy one of those things...then wait 3 days for it to grow. I'll have to sit down with my spreadsheet to see whether it's worth it.

I think Scott Fairy Fish may be best for per/day profit. Although the percentage profit isn't great, selling one at a time with happy points yields quite a bit and they only take 2 1/2 days to mature.

Sheesh, this is getting to be a full part-time job (can't afford to make it my full time job yet!). :p

That new fish is 1.5 mil per. A full tank of these (which I just literally went broke making.) Will cost you 73,500,000 coins. 75m if you don't use an algea eater. I haven't sold yet but based on the profit percentage this is NOT a bulk sale fish.

For one it's 1.5m per and adult sale price is 1,516,500. So 16.5k per fish. Usually this sucks. But since it is such a high priced fish happiness is all the difference. Selling individually at full adult hood at 90% happiness and no algea eater turns 75m into 90,990,000 in 3 days

SN: The name of the tank is BIGMONEY. It's on the bottom of my list. -AntarRSB

Taz, sort of drum three fingers on the screen, and see if it picks that up.

I decided to try food bricks for a week in the bulk tanks. I like 'em so far. It's funny to watch the fish hatch and make a beeline to the food =)

I don't understand when you say af a full tank 73,500,000 coins. 75m if you don't use an algea eater. How does an algae eater make a difference?

Because you're allowed 50 fish per tank. An algea eater is a fish. If you have one algea eater you have one less of your sell fish. 49 instead of 50.

If you're still XPing, try dropping fish one at a time. When all of you fish are fed you get 1 XP. If you have a food brick drop an egg, when the fish eats all fish in the tank are officially fed. It's slower but you get 100 experience per tank made (instead of 50) and 100 sold. Every little bit counts.

I don't have algea eaters in the big money tanks. Made three of them gonna take some time to replace eels gotta sell 4 tanks to get a new one. Well 3 and my remaining eel tanks lol

Also used root explorer to set my coins to 0 just to see the full potential of the profit

You know--that is a good idea. I won't do it every time, but when I am just relaxing and can take the time, I think I will!

Thanks!
