Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

Ya just reflash it like any ROM and just tap the phone when its asleep xD . Put on SD card > NAND Backup (VERY Important) > Wipe Flash > Enjoy :)

And as for the lag idk, my phone actually got much faster with Cyano, I couldn't even software decode any videos on stock because of all the bloat running. After overclocking to 787 it got WAY faster than normal.
 
First of all I really appreciate this ROM and it runs great except for one thing.

My phone randomly reboots all the time weather I am using the stock web browser or Dolphin or really any web browser.

Is anyone else having this issue? It doesn't do it with any other apps other than web browsers.

I will be browsing a website and the browser locks and then 2-3 seconds later the phone just reboots. It will do it 10 times a day if I am using the browser a lot or if I do not use the web browser the phone will not reboot at all.

I have tried re-installing the rom and I wiped my SD card fully as well as internal memory, placed the rom on the SD card and did the install.

Anyway if anyone else has the same issue or a suggestion to get the phone not to reboot when using the browser I would appreciate it.

Was the phone doing this prior to installing the ROM? If so, you have a preexisting hardware issue and need to take the phone back, especially if you just got it.
 
So certain apps won't run after restoring them with Titanium Backup. Gameboid runs but none of my saves or roms work. I used a file manager and can see them on the SD card. Plants vs Zombies doesn't run at all, so I tried re-installing from the Amazon Appstore, still force closes every time I try to open. Illusia I restored from TB and it fcs when I click it's icon.


EDIT: As I feared, the apps work fine if I restore them without data. I want my game saves. Someone help me.

Plants vs Zombies doesn't work no matter what I do.

And now all the apps force close even if I restore without data.

No it was not doing it prior to installing the rom. I installed this on a stock (but rooted) MetroPCS Optimus M that was running 2.2.1 stock.

I really don't see why it would be a hardware issue when every other app works fine and the phone just reboots during using the web browser at random times.

I couldn't return the phone anyway because its rooted and I scratched the screen.

Is the web browser something that is included in this rom or is it something that is already on my phone and stays on there even after I wipe?

I tend to think it has something to do with the web browser apk or something.
 
This sounds a little different, but just to make sure, you might check what speed your processor is running at. Do you have SetCPU? Are you overclocked with the r.O.C.K? I know, sounds catchy and totally cheesy doesn't it? lol. Seriously though. ^^^^

Bro that's another question I had, how did you OC? When I tried to OC using the 'custom' setting it just brought up the min/max and when I clicked on them a prompt kinda thing would appear but there was no keyboard so how was I suppose to adjust it?

Also does anyone know if there is going to be a 1.1 release of this rom? With the MMS and maybe a few fixes anytime soon?
 
Hi All,
I have installed the GB-CMod7-Beta ROM and it's been working just fine for months. I have used headsets with no problems before but now the microphone(s) in my headsets no longer work and I can't figure out why. I can use my phone normally or with speaker phone but cannot use my ear-buds. I can hear through them but the microphone(s) do not work. I tried it with (3) different headsets.

Also, I cannot use my Bluetooth headset and I think it used to work. To be honest I have not used it in a long time but I think it used to work just fine. I realize these are two different issues but I'm stumped. I have checked and rechecked my settings.

This isn't relevant, but I have Power Amp installed and can play my music in the car with a cassette adapter and it sounds like a million bucks.

Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

Hey guys, so I reverted back to CGmod but I am having the same issue as before, maybe I am crazy but I cannot get the screen to respond after it goes idle or after I turn off the screen manually unless I let it stay off for at least fifteen seconds or so... It DID work by hitting a hard button then tapping the screen as someone mentioned BEFORE the MMS patch, but not after. Help Please?

Found a fix.. kinda..

So I guess when I was flashing for the MMS fix and wiped all the settings, animations would turn on again... turned them off again and it KINDA works now :D It still required me to click on the screen a few times to get it to respond but whatever, better then nada.

and as for 1.1 Reppard i think is working on it, fixing the last few bugs and stuff. If not then just wait, the cyano forums are officially working on the optimus line now they got S and V done I think.
 
***** I think I found a fix for the black screen issue. *****

1.Go to Settings->CyanogenMod Settings->Display
2. Uncheck Screen-on and Screen-off animation.
3. Download Chainfire3D from the market.
4. Install the CF3D driver and reboot.

*This worked for me but make sure you do a nand backup before doing this.

I flashed this rom on opt m 2.2.1 and it goes to lock screen when i press lock/pwr button the screen stays black. how do i fix this?

About the GPS issue some are having... I did the root, recovery and CM7 ROM flash couple days ago... Funny thing... First day GPS had me all over southern Cal (hate L.A. Being on My screen)... I didn't really try to do anything about it... just thought... I DUNNO... Next day worked perfectly and has been since... Guess it had to go through a "break-in period! :D I DUNNO... :confused:

It is my understandng that it tracked you in a different part of the state you were actually in? In my case, I'm in a completely different state. Also, when I first flashed the ROM it had no problem finding my location. About a month into use, the problem occurred. I try every couple days, but it still tracks me at the same exact address in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I have not left the the state since using the rom, nor have I ever bought this phone to North Carolina.

For heavens sake read the damn thread people. Do you know how much reading devs do to get projects such as this one off the ground? Its the least you could do :)
 
I was running this rom for a week and really loved it except for a few things. For some reason the default web browser would cause my phone to reboot multiple times a day when using it. I would be browsing a web site...it would hang...then 20 or 30 seconds later it would reboot and I would see the LG screen.

Another issue I had was Weatherbug would Force Close right at start, Well Fargo would Force Close right at start, The Weather Channel app didnt have radar any longer.

Also GPS would sometimes work and sometimes not. Often it would put me in Oklahoma when I am in Florida.

It is pretty good so far but way too beta for me at this point. I have been reading in the android forums they are working on an official port of CM7 for the Optimus M so I will either wait for that or a new version of this port.

As of last night I have flashed Sense ROM 2.2.1 and everything I just spoke about works again and no random reboots. Someone was suggesting in here my phones hardware was bad but I really don't think that was the case since it is all fixed since I have removed this rom.

Anyway keep up the good work and once all or most of the bugs are worked out I will try this out again :)
 
ok after roming this phone for about a month now all of a sudden it just boot loops any idea why it is doing this o and i try reflashing to the same and diff roms and it just bootcycles
 
I have tried to flash CM7 onto my phone a few times using your latest update and am having trouble with the "setup wizard". It gives me a force close, but it just keeps looping. And yes, I have wiped all user data everytime.

I've tried to search the forum to see if other people have had the same issue. There was only one thread, and issue wasn't resolved. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered same problem and may give me some insight.

My phone was a stock 2.2, now Sense ROM. Thank you for your help in advance.

I tried to flash it again recently too just to check a feature, and I ran into the same exact problem. However I didn't pursue it because it wasn't that important to me--I had tried this before and found it too buggy for my taste. Just wanted to throw in a "me too!".

You sound lucky. From the app's page on the Market: "!! Chainfire3D is for 1ghz+ devices only !!"

Are you sure? I just went to the market website via computer and it says its compatible.

I did read that it was for 1ghz+ devices but since it let me install it I gave it a shot.
