Selling Desire

It's time for the Desire to go :(

Before I sell it though I want to completely wipe the data and unroot back to stock.

The phone is an unbranded GSM version and I know I need to run RUU with it plugged into my PC, only thing is I can't for the lilfe of me remember the website to download it from.

Can someone please give me the URL :D

Just to let you know phones usually sell for more when they're rooted/jailbroken/whatever.

You can always mention in the description "willing to unroot on request" or something.

Up to you anyway :p

To be honest I'm not selling it on the likes of Ebay, just can't be bothered with all the grief that goes along with selling electrical goods on there and people saying it doesn't work or is damaged.

It's being shipped off to Mazuma like all my phones in past, quick, painless and money in the account within the week.

I completely understand that. I sold a Nokia 5800.. worked when I sent it off, but the guy I sold it to claimed it didn't and, sure enough, when I got it back it didn't work. Had to buy a new battery for it.. makes me wonder if they just swapped my working battery for their non working one.

Still... it's gotta hurt selling a phone like the Desire for

No not really I've decided to go back to the iPhone.

Been having issues with the desire and lost a bit of faith I'm Android.

Sorry to hear you didnt have a positive experience with Desire its a shame cos Ive been on an incredible journey for past 14 months now and even now I cant stop playing with it...

I think android is good but its just a bit fragmented. By wish I mean too many manufacturers and carriers each playing and adding to the OS before the consumer gets it.

If they all left it as AOSP I feel it would be better.

There are other reasons why I need a 100% reliable phone but there not for open forum which is why the PM.

I agree android is fragmented and its need to address that issue fast otherwise that will put off more people like yourself. Just curious did you root your phone?

I've been thinking about going back to an iPhone as well for pretty much the same reason. Things like iCloud/iTunes syncing are so simple whereas with Android you have to put a lot more effort into managing your stuff, backing up etc. Apple might only let you do things one way but they usually get it right, whereas with Android you have a wider selection but might need to install 3-4 apps to achieve the same outcome. And you can guarantee you'll get the next one or two software updates!

I'm going to see what Apple offers with the iPhone 5 and also see if Android ICS really is going to solve the fragmentation issue before I make a decision.

I'm really just waiting to see what form factor the 5 takes.

If it is like the 4 just slimmer then I'll get the 5, If it is going back to the curved back of the previous models then I'll get the 4. Really didn't like the curved backs when i had one as the phone rocked when you used it on a desk.

The specs of the 4 are fine for me and I'll still get IOS 5 so it will be fine.

Well it's done.

1 more day on Android then thats it, journey over for now.

Thanks to all who have helped out over the last 12 months on here, you know who you are especially Dan.

All the Best Mike. Hope to see you again soon. HTC are working on Hydrogen powered cells ;)

They're not really. Would be cool though eh?!

Please let me know how you find the transition from Android to iPhone if you're sticking around here for a bit as I'm considering it myself!

Haven't used the iPhone since software version 2.x.x and the 1st gen iPhone, I know it's come a long way since :)
