How To: get good battery life

Ok, so I feel that battery life is very lack luster on the Triumph. In my opinion, it has a lot to do with the baseband firmware and general Android 2.2 stupidity, but here is how I fixed it the battery life on my Triumph.

  1. Turn OFF automatic backlighting
  2. Download SetCPU and set the Governor to "Conservative"
  3. Download app "ShutUpBatterySaver"

Set ShutUpBatterySaver to schedule for 5 minutes OFF and 3 minutes ON. Then, set the "Low Signal Control" to a setting you think is appropriate.

With these settings, I've been able to go the entire day with reasonable usage.

How are you using SetCpu on the stock kernel/ROM

Btw, the stock kernel seems to want to keep kicking it back to ondemand 245, so I set up profiles, one for screen off, and one for time 12:01 am to 11:59 pm to both default to conservative, clocked down to 122 MHz. It seems to work great since my time in state at 122 is about 84% overall.
