Preserving battery and 3500/1800 power pack

Hi everyone, I just had a few questions about possibly getting a power pack and some general advice on juice conservation. Thanks in advance, I know this has been done to death but I honestly couldn't find the answer in other threads.


1) I am looking on ebay and there is a 3500maH that obvious requires an enlarged case.
There is no additional charger so I assume it would okay to charge the battery with the phone?
Has any one ever tried this?
Is it harmful to your phone?
How thick or ugly does it look with this monster in it?
How much extra life have you gotten with it?
What about the 1800maH? can this be charged in the phone as well?


2) I am currently running a chinese version, 2.3.3 and although i noticed the battery drained quickly was i was surfing the web with wifi, downloading, etc, once i turned off background/autosync, changed the background wall paper to black, and turned off wifi/bluetooth/gps, the battery has been decent. I have let it run idle now for about 4 hours and it has dropped 2 percent only. i post this is response to another fellow who posted that he was dropping ?1% every 20 minutes in idle mode.

3) how do i turn off social hub? i am unrooted. come to think of it, i also wanted to get rid of the new feed and the weather widget as well. i have heard of titanium but i guess i have to be rooted for that.

1-yes those extended battery needing a lager back will charge with the phone like with the stock.I already tried it but with another phone but its the same with all, it give to the device in my tough a really ugly look and its pretty bad to feel that big thing in your pocket. but its great to get 2x the stock battery life so its a choice.The 1800mah everybody would tell you its crappy and its not better than the stock.. so i would tell you the same since i have tested them alot and its hard to see a difference

3- just root and uninstall all the bad stuff pre-installed like me, easy and fast and yes titanium need a root
