new market on atrix?

I havnt gotten the new market update on my atrix. Have you guys gotten it yet, is there something i need to do, or is it completely random?
 
While I'm sure it's not completely random, it probably seems that way. They are staggering out the updates.

I got the new market on my tablet 2 days ago, but still not on my Atrix. So, I have no idea what the "Pattern" is. Maybe it's a "Serial number lottery"??
 
I had it. Then it disappeared. Really weird. At the time I didn't even realize there was a new version. This was about a week ago
 
I just got it today. I must say, I like it better then I thought I would. The only thing I would change is having the screens cluttered. I like how you can download books and movies all in the same place. If Im not mistaken, after you download a movie, you can watch it offline of a short period of time.

How do you download the market? or update it?

You can't force it to update. It will update when they push the update to you. As stated above, that seems to be random.

If you don't want to wait for it, see Hakosuka's post above (#4) for a link that you can download the APK and install it yourself.
 
Another thing I really like about the new market is that it list all you apps in alphabetical order and tells you how many apps you have. I have 179 apps as of now.
 
I don't see an option to check for update notifications and I am not getting any unless I go into the Market to check

What am I doing wrong?

Your right, I don't see it either. To be honest, it never worked well in the old version. I would go into the market, view my apps and see updates that I didn't receive the notification. (Even though I had it turned on.) Best advice I can give you is to check the market a few times a week for updates.
 
I have only ever gotten notifications of available updates from the Market after a reboot of the phone.
It's never really bothered me, I just manually check for them. I guess I am used to it since BlackBerry App World did the same thing.
 
Installed the new market a couple of weeks ago by side-loading the APK as linked above - seems to work well, the interface is a nice refresh (if a little bit of a Win7 phone rip-off) and it's been flawless so far.

I got the new Market App today automatically and it seems ok, the usual with lots of adds. Nothing to write home about.
 
I noticed GB won't update market unless u reboot phone. Tested this theory by wiping phone twice ( via recovery mode )and had old market at first but if you reboot seemed to install the new one back.

Not true. My tablet (on GB) got the update overnight one night, without a reboot.
My Atrix got it during the middle of the day earlier this week. I just opened the market around lunch time and suddenly, I was on the new version. I was on the old version that morning, and the phone was NOT rebooted.

What you are seeing is that your system has gotten notified of the update. Every time you wipe, it goes back to the old. Then, after a while, it gets the notice to update. It just SEEMS to be happening around a reboot.

So it just checks randomly it doesn't check for an update when you open the market app?

The market checks for updated apps at phone startup, when you launch the market app, and its supposed to do it randomly (but I don't see it doing that).

As for when the market checks for updates to ITSELF (the market application, not any other apps) that does fire off randomly, and at reboot. But, not only at reboot like you stated.
 
Not sure if this works but I read where you can go into
The task manager and do a force close on the market.
then clear the cache and reboot. Open the market
Back up and it should update. Again, not tried it,
Just read it.
