I absolutely can't wait to use Verizon Navigator on wifi. I probably won't get a wink of sleep till the update comes out.

Yeah, because that's helpful...Wifi capability using a navigation app. As long as you don't navigate too far from a Wifi hotspot... :D

(aside: who actually uses that piece of crap? I tried once, and it had be downloading updates, and all sorts of stuff.. I eventually canceled and went back to google maps (I was looking for a way to show speed.)

Question to the experts:

The .pdf says the update size is 87.8 MB. What could that mean in terms of extra bloat or Sense features that may or may not be added? What was the size of the 2.2 update?

According to androidcentral:

Update: Just got word about how the over-the-air rollout's going to take place. The push is scheduled to start Tuesday, Aug. 16, with an initial 10,000 updates. Another 50,000 will get it on Wednesday, and everybody else on Friday.

As someone who just rooted a few days ago, what is the process to unroot and update to the official release if I decide I want to do that?

This should help you get back to stock;

So what are the differences between 2.3.4 and 2.3.5? Do we get the newest sense with 2.3.4? Wish there was a detailed list of the differences.

If I've read the story correctly the new Sense will only come with the new handsets. If you want the new version of Sense you'll have to root and install one of the Gingersense ROM's.

I would regularly pull up Google Nav in the office to check on traffic. If I'd just get stuck on the beltway for an hour and a half, I'd just stay at work. And if it works like Google Nav, it caches the route data, so if you start in a wifi zone you might save alot of 3G data.

From the description, I think V-nav would open up a 3g connection even if you're on wifi, which is annoying, slower and battery inefficient. So (assuming there is ANYONE using the app) it's not actually as insane as it sounds.

If your rooted, I'd suggest just waiting for some kindly dev to put out a rooted version you can flash. It will probably be out 24-48 hours after the update hits.

Ooooo. Good call, thanks for catching my miss. Me, I'm sticking with MIUI. No sense in unrooting to stock just to do it again. The only time I'll be unrooting and going back to stock will be when I get a new phone.
