How to transfer app/data to busted phone?

I might have to replace a defective Optimus V. I have most of my apps on a SD card. Can I just insert the card into the new phone and have them recognized? How do I transfer data and non-SD apps?
 
No, you will need to reinstall them via the market... Unless you have something like Titanium Backup with the apk and data saved.
 
Well what's wrong with your phone? Since Gingerbreak allows unrooting and mod manager
can back your system up you could root, backup, unroot, then root your new phone and reload your entire system via the backup ;)

umm dude, "busted" does not define what your old phone can and cannot do. By my definition of busted it's broken in half. Would you please explain what the condition of yoyr phone is, like does it boot, just the screens broke, etc.
