Or you could put some solar panels on a hat and hope for a sunny day. Wire them in to charge your battery and you'll be good to go...LOL.

I only look good in cowboy hats. Maybe I can make solar panels shaped like sparkly gingerbread men? (I have a theory about what I did in past lives that makes me so partial to jewels and sparkle) lol.
 
So just to cover my .. Let's go base.. If you installed the 4.06.605.2 ruu that leaked out, you will still get this notification right? If not, me and my dad are screwed..... :(

Would you mind doing me a favor? On the 4.06.605.2 ruu, there's a problem with the speakerphone. Whenever you set it on and lay it down it might shut off.

When u look at the screen like when I check a message on a call, it shuts off the speaker. This also has the flip for speaker off. Tried on and off still no different. Could you try to use it and see if this new build fixes that? I would appreciate it.

You might not get the notification as the version numbers are the same. In any case if you ran the RUU and had s-on your basically screwed as Unrevoked may or may not decide to look for a new way to root the Inc and it appears HTC is only unlocking bootloaders for newer phones. HTC may eventually unlock all phones but at the pace they are going at it would be a very long wait.

I have S-ON. I must have did s-on before unrooting to install this. But hopefully I do. I probably wouldn't mind that much I just want the latest software. But I don't remember doing s-on but I did. With s-on maybe?

I actually made a mistake if you have s-on your screwed (I edited my last post to reflect this) as far as root goes, you have to have s-off in order to flash a custom recovery and install superuser. But you will still be able to flash the newest RUU and get the OTA that way it will just wipe your phone again.

I have made several calls on speaker today and had no problems.

Thats just a patch file for the old 2.3 OTA (RUU) and that has to be installed first in order for this to work. No ones posted the actual new 2.3 OTA as of yet. So that means people who installed the leaked GB RUU should still get a notification but in this case its just a patch not a full ROM.
 
Crap, I finally got my firesale HP Touchpad in the mail today, and now I have this to look forward to, as well? What am I going to do first when I get home from work?

Actually you might as there is a patch being pushed as an OTA to go from 4.06.605.2 to 4.06.605.3 which should be the final version. If you don't get it you can download it from the link provided a few posts back.

I removed the link because it isn't flashable. Sorry. You can find it in the incredible forum over at xda.
 
So I received the "System Update" message on my Inc, requesting to upgrade to 2.3.4. My phone was already rooted some time ago. But I'm using the default ROM. I've since installed a few root-only apps like Wireless Tether. Anyone know what will happen if I accept the update? Will I have to re-root to get Wireless Tether running again?

If you accept it it will unroot with no guarantee to be able to root again.
