Root [ROM][DROIDX] ApeX 2.0.0 Release Candidate (RC4) (10/9/2011)

I've always used TiBu to restore my apps (220+) w/data and have never had an issue. The people that have issues are usually trying to restore system data along with apps and app data.

Are you running the new Apex? If so, how is it running for you?

Thanks guys :)
Just flashed and rebooting now!! :) Love the Google boot screen, and will let you know in a short while how it's going.

Thanks again, it's appreciated.

I've been on it since Monday and it had been great so far, it isn't quite as fast as the 2nd init ROMs but it is still quick and smooth. I did lose my 3G connection on the first day but that could have been coincidental. I like the fact that I have HD video and the blur camera again.

Thanks man. I ran RC2 and was not a happy camper. An early adopter of RC3 and was still not digging it. I may flash it again when it gets updated but for now Im running Liberty and doing just fine with it.

Where did u get liberty? Is it similar in terms of simplicity and lack of garbage apps?

The dark market doesnt finish loading for me. keeps saying loading. Is there a way to get the old market back?

works now. It looks sweet. Now i just need to test out some downloads

hate to seem ungrateful but I flashed that zip in cwr and it still doesn't work, was I supposed do do anything else?

You still cannot purchase apps using the dark market?

Can you clear market data and cache and try again?

I can confirm I had the problem 'an error has occured' prior to flashing, and then I purchased uber music after :)

It could just be a Market issue, there are a few bugs with the new one. Under the My Apps list my Not Installed apps shows a few apps that are actually installed on my phone. When I press on them they are shown to have an update rather than be listed on top as an app with an available update.

You mean clear cache/data and flash again? Or just clear cache data and try and buy something? Cause I cleared and tried to buy something and it still didn't work.

I'm also not running Apex btw, I'm on Shuji, but it's essentially the same AND the problem seems to be spread across multiple ROMS, maybe this fix only works on Apex though...

Clear the data/cache for the Market app in settings > applications >manage applications >press the all tab >then press on the Market app and select clear data..

Yea that's what I did, sorry should have been more clear. I cleared the cache and data for the market app, started it up, accepted the terms, and tried to buy something. Had the same results.

I have been on this rom for 2 days now and have had no problems. I am using BWC on it and am very happy with it. Thanks FAB

damn. dark market did not fix the error for me.

Edit. got it working using this method.
install the dark market zip fab supplied. then after you reboot goto http://www.droid-life.com/2011/08/2...ew-1-button-and-pin-protection-for-purchases/ and install the apk from there. then goto settings/applications/manage applications/all/market click force stop then uninstall updates. now reboot to CWR and install the dark market zip again. reboot and try to purchase an app. it worked for me.

I have no idea how you came up with that fix, but it worked for me. I was beginning to think it was a plot by Amazon to pull business away from the market.

Ive come upon a strange situation. Got RC3 running just fine, no problems with restoring any of my apps. But when I fire up DX2bootstrap it gives me the normal Granted permission stuff and the phone shuts down and then boots back up but skips going into CWR. It just goes back to normal old booted up phone. Any ideas?

Yeah weird series of steps but somehow it worked. glad it helped you too.

I was having the same problem, just with dx bootstrap and clockwork. I even tried using root tools to boot into recovery. I finally tried dx2 bootsrap and that worked just fine. I attribute it to my phone being annoyed with the revolving door of roms i flash. :D Cause other than that, i got nothing.

Well, at least im not alone. I managed to become distracted enough last night to not care about it but this morning I decided to SBF which im doing as I type. Time for a do-over.

Unbelieveable. I followed these steps exactly and my market STILL doesn't work... You flashed the apex market fix.zip from the second post in this thread after the droid-life one? I am really getting frustrated now

Can you offer a guide if we are using a .596 based rom to go to this?

It's actually very simple. This is what I did.

1. SBF to Froyo
2. Take OTA .602 update
3. Use New One-Click Root method for GB
4. Install Rom

Easy as pie. Although my method left me with a market where I can't buy any apps, and it seems all the fixes that work for everybody else don't work for me. YMMV. Good luck :)

Where is this One-Click Root method for GB?
How do you do this?

Sorry, I assumed you would have been following the forums as of late, it's all over the place :p

In fact, it's 3 posts down, anyway go here:

[ROOT] Droid 3 root instructions (One Click added for Windows/ Linux/ OSX))

Read the second post. From the thread:

1. Make sure you have Motorola drivers installed - LINK to x64 drivers(64-bit) LINK to x86 drivers(32-bit)
2. Download and unzip 'MotorolaOneClickRoot_psouza4' - LINK MotorolaOneClickRoot_psouza4
3. On your phone: Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging(check box)
4. Plug phone into computer and select "Charge Only" mode
5. Navigate to 'MotorolaOneClickRoot_psouza4' folder and run 'MotorolaOneClickRoot.exe'
6. Now just follow the instructions in the command window and unlock the phone after each reboot.
