Root [ROMs Froyo] Upgrade your Xperia X8 to Froyo 2.2

ok...tq very much..so just that two link will help me to upgrade to 2.3 version right..i will need ur helpful advice when I'm mess up..thanks gabeyong =) ;)
 
OMFG, all the glory to you gabeyong for your effort, but rather than advising some f****** noob, who even can't read the first post with clear steps how to upgrade, please do something about crashing Android Market in 1.0... :rolleyes:

Sorry, this version won't even install on 1.0.. Have you tested it? :rolleyes: Anyway, I have tried 2.3.4 version for Android 2.3 (download here Download Android.Market.v2.3.4.For.Android.2.3.apk for free on Filesonic.com) and so far good, even after reboot market doesn't start crashing and it offers Maps update, which any of previous tried versions did not.

I will edit my post on previous page with instructions which versions to download and I recommend you to ctrl+c/ctrl+v my post to the first one in this thread, cause it's kinda critical information for everyone who tries to install 1.0.

Thanks, I have updated the Android Market App in my post.

I wrote this guide for my friends who wanted to use Floyo 2.2
I am using Gingerbread 2.3.5... I think it is far superior to Floyo 2.2

Yes, GingerDX v009 is current the best IMHO.... (just updated to v009 a few minutes ago).
Waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich when it comes out in October 2011

excuse me, i am a newbie in android.

i have single question. i have my x8 sdcard partition for link2sd. if i want to upgrade to floyo-0.30, what do i have to do with that partition? please tell me step by step. need ur help, Mr. Gabeyong. please reply, ASAP.

NB: I'm too scared to upgrade to gingerbread, because this is my first upgrade. :D My phone still android 2.1 :(.
 
GingerDX performs very well. :) I even didn't have to perform full factory reset, so no app and data backup/reinstall. ;) Quadrant score is just slightly over 900 but it's better than with Floyo 1.0. :)

You don't have to go back to Eclair.
Just copy GingerDX to sd Card
go to xRecovery -> factory wipe -> install custom zip -> gingerdx

that's all

Been using for a while now and all features work no reboots or anything BUT it seem to be reaaaally slow in apps before i rooting at using rom i could run fruit ninja with no lagg or anything at all but now its Really laggy and so is nearly all other apps/games any idea why? and how i could fix it?

wifi cannot search..(i must manual connection to connect it..)=(

now i upgrade froyo 1.0...hope no bug...^^

hi ..im just starting to like these android mod ..i got my x8 last month and the android version is 2.1.1 ..very slow and always stuck when typing a text ..now i'm trying to use a custom rom ..which is better ..i spot that 2.2.9 cm (floyo 0.3) have mpeg-4 video recording ..does the latest floyo 1.0 hackdroid also have it ..i might not notice what kind of codec that my phone use for video recording ...

Hello,

I used your manual to root, backup and install my x8 with Floyo (2.2.5) v1.0 HACKDROID. It works splendid. I have just one question. My keyboard keeps vibrating, also after I turned off the vbrate settings ilanguage & keyboards settings and in the sound settings and in the cyanogenMod settings. Clearly I am missing something, but I hope you can help me.
