Root I've read all the other threads, please help!!

I was running cm7 on my Ascend but bought a Galaxy Indulge and did a factory restore on the Ascend to give it to a friend. Apparently, doing this deleted something in the phone that now does not allow me to hook it into a computer. To make matters worse, Metro says they cannot add service to the phone because something is wrong with it. I've tried *228 route to add service as well and it says they cant do it that way either. I basically need the phone to be flashed back to stock, but without hooking it to a computer. It still powers on and boots up fine, it just cant do anything service-wise. I'm able to transfer files to the sd card by using my indulge as a SD reader. Has anyone ever made a "stock rom" that I could flash through CWM like CM6/7 or Icarus. CWM is still on the phone so If anyone has something like that I would greatly appreciate a link. Thanks a ton for reading. *Praying for help*

tried it. it flashed fine, but i still get "usb not recognized." and metro wont connect it. I think i deleted something important. Anyone have ideas?? Side note - LOVE the boot animation on Playfulmod!!

It seems almost as if the phone doesnt even know its connected to a computer. It starts charging, but i dont get an option for usb anything. Usb options isnt even in my settings menu... I'm so confused.

Have you tried:

1. Plug phone into USB
2. (on phone) drag notification bar down
3. hit "Connect to PC" or whatever it says?

I'm sure you have... Just had to check. :confused:

Doesn't even give me the option to do that. like i said, the phone apparently doesn't even know it's plugged into a computer.
 
Well, after bragging and saying I never needed to install any drivers... I am now all of a sudden unable to connect to my laptop. However, I just dl'd and tried to follow you instructions, and realized their for Windows... I'm on Linux, how do I rectify this problem? :confused:
 
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ahahah I dont know Ahaha I have 2 zips of drivers but neither have anything for Linux in them

Download and install the drivers. AscendUSBDrivers.zip

OOnce downloaded extract the zip, open the file and click PCOptions then click install drivers then once the Config window goes away plug your phone in.

Did this hoping my drivers were maybe out of date, but still got "usb device not recognized." I think it's a problem in the phone. Like I deleted whatever the phone needs to connect to a computer. Does anyone know how to reinstall everything that came on the phone, and i mean everything because i'm pretty sure i deleted something important. Thanks for the help Can0dope and ShinySide!!

Reflash stock or whatever ROM you're using.
 
it sounds like the usb port itself, but also can be a bad cable, even new cables can be defective, try a different cable, but this phone cannot be brick in anyway unless you drown it in gas and set blaze to it, but try this and run the script according to your OS...

reverting back to stock, ok power down the phone and download and extract this to your desktop MetroStockRecovery-SCRIPTS.zip after you done that press and hold vol down, end key and tap power, your phone should be on the white huawei screen and it should stay there plug your phone to the computer via usb cable, now open the folder that you extracted and run both of these file, first run fastboot-windows you will see a black box come and leave quick, next run metroPCSStock-windows.bat than another black box will pop up and it will do its thing, once it finishes the phone will automatic reboot itself.

Agree...go back to the stock 2.1, and then try to update it to the 2.2 either through stock, or through one of the ROM's here.

Turns out my cord is just not as good as it used to be... If I get it just right (perfectly straight, no kinks), it works fine. And the port on my phone is getting loose too, so I'm sure that doesn't help...
