Is one month standby actually feasible?

Hi,
I just want to know if - after turning off everything except cellular - it is possible to get the claimed 710 hours(29.5 days) of standby in 2G.

Actually I am curious if even 10 days of standby is doable.

Nah, I would hazard a guess that the standby time is measured during a test when the phone maintains a perfect connection to a factory test network, rather than in real life conditions.

What a shame....
Kinda untruthful advertising (even if it works in their lab)
That's not a 10% margin..not even a 50% one
I mean that's like subscribing to a dsl line only to get 10% of the claimed speed where you would 'theoretically' get 100% if you were 100 feet away.

sue Samsung for that :D there is always 1% chance u will win... ;)

Personally i never believe in estimated battery life which is in manual books from phones. Every company writes more than it actually is. Just for comparing look at cars. Manfacturers always gives very low fuel comnusption and theres nearly always a diffrence in whats written in spec and in real life. Usually cars take more fuel than its claimed... I guess we have to deal with it. ;)

No worries, when i read spec of sgs2 before i got it, I was wondering is it really possible that such a smartphone has such a good batterey these days but, when I got it, I quickly realised thats it is just pure marketing ;) but anyway after unrooting my phone, wipeing out all bloatware and upgrading to Litening rom 6.1, my phone with medium to heavy usage lasts over 24h. In standby mode with very light usage it lasted for over 3 days. I have seen ppl reaching over 4 days but reaching even 7 days is not possible...

Wow that's actually quite good.
Mine won't last 8 hours of heavy use. Could you recommend a lite'ning ROM for me? I am currently using the official one.
Tell me about bloat-ware, I got the phone about 3 weeks ago and to this day I am unable to remove all of them( I 'might' use them in the future).

first of all you have to ROOT your phone which actually means losing guarantee. but if you dont care about it so much i would recommend it. only then you will be able to fully wipe out or just freeze apps which came with phone. there are loads of other roms (try XDA developers forum) but im currently using Lite`ning rom 6.1 which i fin very fast, stable and my battery life is good :) try looknig in to this forum section on top (All things root) u will find some info there. But have a look at this thread below as well (it explains clearly and in easy way how to upgrade your firmware and Root your phone)

oh, good to hear that :) so in this case don`t be afraid of trying other roms :) and seriously Litening rom is worth trying :) dont forget to use Titanium Backup befor wiping your data. its great app to freeze bloatware as well so you dont have to remove some of it, just freeze and unfreeze when u need them. good luck! :)
