Widget Locker and Wake on Volume Function?

dequardo

This seems flaky to me. It works initially and always works for 5 seconds after screen is locked but after that the volume keys no longer work for waking the phone. With the power button where it is this is a must have function for me. Anyone know how to make this 'stick' or is it a problem with Gingerbread and/or Motos?

I want to test the wake on volume app but i cant find it what is the correct name fo rit please?

Fair enough. Anyone know of an app that will allow for Volume buttons to wake device-and work on the Bionic?

do you use the stock PIN or pattern lock? if so, do the volume keys work (with Widget Locker) if the stock PIN/pattern lock is disabled?

No PIN or patttern lock used.

bummer. i've tried a number of different lock screen replacements that have options for allowing volume buttons to turn on screen, but none appear to work on this phone (i have the PIN lock enabled). i miss being able to hit the home button on my Droid X to wake it up.

What other software (preferably free) offers the volume key to function as a wake up button?

Hi,
Today I installed the full version of WidgetLocker app,It works fantastically well and is a great app (atleast as of today ;-) ) But I found this weird problem which I want to overcome here. My phone wakes up when I click volume button which I do not want it to happen. I want it to wake up only when I click home or power buttons.
Can somebody help me out here on this?

Regards,
Pradsss

Be aware that many people have tried WL and had battery issues on the Bionic. I tried it and my battery showed a drop from 80% to 30% in 3 hours with an extended battery. Still, others reported their battery is fine and speculate it may be custom widgets that are causing this.

Has anyone besides Pradeep been able to get Easy Wake mode to work on the Bionic and have the volume buttons work for wake?

I use No Lock from the Market but the volume buttons have been very inconsistent on Bionic. Was using it on Incredible2 and Droid X where it worked flawlessly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Since I saw this thread and posted, it reminded me about an app I had paid for a year or so ago. I downloaded and installed it and so far so good. Has been working with power button and volume keys on Bionic. It has a start on boot option so I don't know if that helps as well or has anything to do with it, but another option for you (but it is a paid app).

I use No Lock on the Bionic and DroidX.

It is the best solution I have found for managing the lock.

When it is iunlocked, the power key or either volume key will wake it.
When it is locked, only the power key will wake it.

Keyguard Disabler is only $2.99 and IMO well worth it (I cant stand lock screens).
