Is there any speculation on the screen type? I can't seem to find anything on the googles that talks about it. I am hoping something other then pentile.

my question is this...Am i the only that thinks this thing is way too thick? Also i guess there will be no HDMI. I really don't care about that but i know a lot of people do.

It has MHL, which supports HDMI over a micro USB connector..

It's still using a first-gen LTE radio, it's going to be bigger than 3G-only devices. Even the just-announced SGS2LTE for Korea is 9.65mm at its thinnest, and that's with Samsung's unique build quality (love it or hate it, its thin and light). This appears to have a typical HTC build (again, love it or hate it, its strong and durable) that's no worse than the Thunderbolt.

oh also do we know what brand of Processor it will be?

It's a Qualcomm Snapdragon..

Here's a link to a comment from kellex over at Droid-Life. He's a writer for that side, and has inside information on this phone. He says MHL is confirmed. Here's the link:

HTC Vigor Poses for Photo Shoot: 4.3″ 720p HD Screen, 2MP Front Camera, 4G LTE and 1.5GHz Dual-core Processor Confirmed - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Just for those not familiar, MHL is mobile high-def link.. it enables HDMI over micro USB.

It's BETTER than HDMI-D, because it allows charging over HDMI!

yeah i know HTC is typically thick but the Bionic is pretty slim for an LTE phone. anyways

thanks for the processor confirmation.

Do any other phones currently out have the same processor? Maybe the Sensation ?

I'm sorry to be a noob about this, but does this just require me to buy a wire that is HDMI on one end and micro USB on the other? Again, sorry if foolish.

Don't you worry about sounding 'noob' :)
Fact is I have NO idea, lol. I would guess yes though

(btw, we were ALL noobs once:))

It's a higher clock of the same Snapdragon that's in a bazillion phones, its part of the S3 Snapdragon SOC that's in EVO 3D and Sensation (1.2GHz) and Sensation XE (1.5GHz)

It should be using the Sony Super LCD like all their recent phones. Better than pentile, but not necessarily as great as SAMOLED.

Two Questions on the MHL:

1) Can power/charging be supplied thru the HDMI cable at all? Or must it come from plugging in your charger cable into the box-end of the adapter cable thru that extra usb port?

2) Is the 1080p maintained thru the cable output in 1080p to your TV?

MHL charging is only supported in the MHL-enabled TV scenario. Otherwise, you have to use the adapter cable to supplement power to an HDMI-only connection.

Then that would be a likely no for me, as my Samsung TV is from the 2007 model year back when 60hz refresh rates were the norm.

sorry, am slightly confused by this also. Could you explain the scenario in detail? Will it charge my phone while it is plugged into the tv?

He's implying that the TV must support MHL thru the HDMI ports in order for the TV to be able to directly charge your phone....without having to use an external charging cable plugged into the MHL cable.

EDIT: I tried to find TV's w this capability, and as of this article below, there are none as of yet.

2nd EDIT: Here is likely the only TV to support MHL, as of end of August (just a month ago).

Samsung Galaxy S II has does MHL [HDMI over USB]

Toshiba Regza WL800A is the first TV with MHL port for easy smartphone connectivity, built-in camera for viewer recognition | This is my next...

Good find player:)

Well, was gonna say very cool with the MHL charging the phone through the usb but with having to have the TV MHL capable, that sucks. Just bought our new TV a month ago so I won't be able to take advantage of this feature. I just hope they'll have chargers or cable adapters whatever that will allow you to plug it in to the outlet AND HDMI so you can both charge and watch at the same time...otherwise this isn't a good deal for those who want to use HDMI out....
