Possible fix for 20110803 no Wifi

Rabid1

Android Enthusiast
Here is the direct link to the firmware. This is for the 1024x600 pads. This is not a fully custom fancy ROM. It might have a funky flash animation for now, but it beats having to sign up to download a version just to have you e-mail added to spam marketing lists.

Many Many thanks to Flanflinger for his hard work getting this ready.

If you have the Android version 20110803, or 803 for short, and flashed Tim's or Funnycomb and lost Wifi leave a post here. I will PM the link to the first couple people who respond so they can test it. If it works then I will post the link. This has been tested on one unit and it did work, but there are more than one manufacturer's units involved.

THIS CAN ONLY BE FLASHED ON 803 UNITS! IT WILL KILL THE WIFI ON NON 803 UNITS. Wifi can be recovered by flashing with the correct firmware, but why go through the hassle.

Way to handle that, Rabid1.

Also, I edited in the "Tips" prefix for you because you're providing info in addition to seeking feedback.

I have a link to firmware that should fix the no Wifi after flashing Tim or Flan's custom ROMS. Unfortunately I lost the test pad I had to run it on.

Would it not have been possible to include BOTH wifi chipset drivers in the firmware, possibly with a gscript to switch between them, then it would have worked with both revisions of the hardware and done away with all the confusion.
I can see this type of problem getting worse as the various FT3 manufacturers fit different modules because they were the cheapest ones they could find at the time of purchasing the parts for a production run.

It's being worked on fella, well when I'm not spending half my time trying to clear up after BS claims from "Sopwith Camel" on other forums.

There does seem to be two types of 803 tab floating about, some are fine after flashing mine or Tims roms

Ideally but one step at a time. We need to be certain this works on as many as impossible before Flan works on a more universal version. If they do not have the wifi issue there really is no reason to run this ROM. It is another, technically under performing stock ROM. If you don;t have the problem you are better off with Tim or Flan's custom roms.

Yup we already have hit one with the MAIPAD. I don't think the issue is the same because he is saying a Tim script fixes his issue, which it shouldn't in this case.

That Said:

BEFORE YOU REQUEST A LINK MAKE SURE YOUR PROBLEM IS WORKING WIFI NO LONGER WORKS AFTER FLASHING A CUSTOM OR STOCK ROM ON A TABLET WITH ANDROID VERSION 2.2 20110803. IF IT HAD WIFI ISSUES PRIOR AND YOU FLASHED TO FIX IT THIS PROBABLY WON'T WORK.

Yeah I saw that, if that's the case for him then I really don't think it's the same issue, I've been refreshing the forum like mad to see if he's rebooted and it's still ok lol

yeah I think the script he used is the one to go from Adhoc and back.

FunnyComb 6 up now, fix script added.
Ensure you read the instructions in the first post of the thread on aPad, I really don't wan't to spend my time fielding questions from those who can't be bothered to read.

IF YOU KNOW YOUR TABLET IS A 1024x576 SCREENED "803" DO NOT FLASH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET WIFI BACK UNTIL A STOCK FIRMWARE BECOMES AVAILABLE

There is a new test release for Funnycomb beta 6 with the fix for the 803 no wifi added. If interested PM me for a link.

THIS ROM IS FOR 1024x600 PADS ONLY. REMEMBER THE 803 ISSUE IS FROM UNITS THAT LOST WIFI AFTER FLASHING TO A CUSTOM ROM FROM ANDROID 2.2-20110803 RELEASE!

THE MORE TESTERS TO CONFIRM THE FIX = A CUSTOM ROM AVAILABLE THAT MUCH SOONER FOR 803 OWNERS
