Root [CDMA] Radio issues

what radio issues are refering to? what software # are you on, how did u root?

The data just cuts off randomly and then comes back on. It's frustrating when trying to download something and have it interrupted by the data going blank. My software ends in .2. I I shouldn't base my signal strength solely on my status bars, but they're constantly bouncing back and forth too. Unless I'm at home using my airave, my signal is never consistent when I'm sitting in one spot. I'll have 5 bars and think that it's ok to go online or something, and once I start using data the bars start jumping around. Will flashing a newer radio fix this?

I'm not currently rooted btw.

from my experience, the new radio updates work better than the original, but that is not in a rom, it is an extra zip to flash

I refer to it being in ROMs because when I had the Hero, I was told to always flash the correct ROM for my device because there were two different Heroes, GSM and CDMA. There are two different Evo 3Ds, so that's why I ask.

So you're saying after rooting I can just flash the latest radio and all should be well?

all should be better, but if you update your radios you will need to update at least to a rooted version of the updated stock rom, which you could flash with out wiping data, just cache and dalvik

Download PG86IMG 651 firmware nohboot zip

Download that, rename it to "PG86IMG.zip" (without quotes, obviously), and stick it in the root of your SD card (meaning, not in a subfolder). Shut off the phone with fastboot in Power unchecked (or pull your battery out). Then hold volume down and power. The bootloader should find the file and ask you if you want to upgrade. You do. Done.

What does this do? Is this the new radio?

Will this radio work with all ROMs? I'm currently on CleanRom, which has updated radio. But if I switch ROMs, willu be able to run this file and keep updated radio?
