I was fed up of waiting for the gb update sooo....I went and got gb myself by installing a gb rom. So I'm running 2.3.3 on my phone right now....at&t will never upate the infuse trust me. They will betray it..jk you probly just have to wait a LOOONG time

I haven't had the time to read every one of the posts but I scanned through to see if anyone who was having issues actually turned on the packet data network before they tried to download the update. You won't connect using wifi for the update. Turn on the packet network and you'll be good to go.

some of us are waiting cause of a few bugs, in the rom.
i have seen a few issues with wifi and hspa. not sure if those have been fixed.but it also seems to be att,s issue also ntm they are lazy!
:)

Just get a gingerbread rom people
....why are u guys waiting

I encourage trying new roms but remember, depending on which gingerbread rom you pick...you are trading one set of problems or another. If you get the rom that works for you...then a good move, otherwise frustration.
:)

Guys, my build # says GINGERBREAD.UXKG3 Is this the most current?

You have the infused rom 2, my frienda ha. Its probably mostly better then the latest update for att probably except for the new ucki3 leak out now. This is not fully functionable yet though. Or wait are you in Canada?

I just got the same message after having my phone for a few days. One thing I noticed the phone was not connected to the data portion of AT&T s network. I read your post which I then checked for my software updates, -> Settings -> Software Updates. When I clicked on it there I saw that the data connection was not enabled. I am not sure why this was not enabled but when I pressed on it to enable it I noticed the red and blue arrows at the top of my screen come to life. My suspicion is that the service gets hung or crashes for what ever reason without knowing which log files to look at on the back end of the phone. I just updated my phone successfully. Make sure the data service is enabled.

Ever since I read that there was a software update available for the Infuse 4G, I tried to get it.

Every time I try, I'd turn my phone off, pull the battery out, and then put everything back together and turn it on again. Then I'd go over to the applications settings and force stop and clear data for the Device Management. After that I'd turn off my Wi-fi (regardless of whether I was connected or not) and let my data connection take over. Then I would prompt the phone to check for updates. It would display the blue and red arrows and say "Connecting to DM Server."

But every time I do so, it always fails, showing the "Connection failed. Unable to communicate with the AT&T servers." It doesn't seem to matter if my signal is at a good 4 or 5 bars. It always fails.

What does a person have to do to get this software update? How do you do it? Please help!

I have data and wifi turned on simultaneously and it is working for me right now downloading some sort of update. I will advise as to which software version etc I have when all is said and done.

Phone software updated without a hitch.
I am not yet sure if there is anything different other than the version numbers themselves.
My biggest gripe is the Android market and the inability to deal with installing larger apps. I was not expecting any great fix like that however.

Firmware Version 2.2.1
Baseband Version I997UCKH1
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Build Number FROYO.UCKH1

My build number is FROYO.UCKD5. It's been like that for a long time. When I check for updates, it appears to connect, and then tells me I'm up to date. Don't know why it does that when there are newer builds. I've never rooted or done anything like that.

Are You with AT&T same sim card and same infuse firmware? if you are with othere sim card your phone wont update. Use at&t simcard with data.lol

I just received the update a week or less ago. I know when I had my old backflip, att told me to go to motorolas website and to put the download on my sd card. They said this way, people werent running up their data. Try the samsung website?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the custom ROMs don't support AT&T's 4G yet, right?

Here in Denver, the 4G outpaces my DSL, and it's wonderful because none of the iPhone users are (or will be) competing for the same network, so even at crowded concerts or sporting events, I have great access.

I'll root and upgrade when 4G is supported.
