Case or No case for my nexus s?

nexusSMike

Newbie
I just got my nexus s 2 days ago and am wanting to hear from owners if you guys would recommend getting a case because I like the feel of the "nexus". So I am just wondering if you guys think a case is necessary or is the phone pretty durable I mean pretty scratch resistant from normal thing's like in/out of pocket etc. Any input would be helpful thanks alike.

I had the phone out of the case less than a week and the back was moderately scratched just from in and out of the pocket. Went with a momax PC/TPU hybrid case and it gives the phone enough protection without being obtrusive. It also gives the phone something it needs TREMENDOUSLY...grip. A bare nexus s is like holding a wet bar of soap.

As far as the screen although it's not gorilla glass, it is pretty durable. Not a scratch yet and it's had the opportunity to have been scratched. Screen protectors make the screen feel and look like garbage. One of the best features of this phone is the screen/display. It's vibrant and feels extremely smooth to the touch. A screen protector ruins that.

No case here.
Not that many "pocket" scratches.
I bought the case they sellat best buy and it was scratching the phone. the part that made contact with the back of the phone was just hard plastic.
If you get a case get one that the backing has that soft pelt shit.
But it's a slippery little shit and I've drop it 4 times.
I don't like screen protectors. They already have an anti scratch coating

are you talking about that platinum case thing? I think the only case they have at bestbuy for it and its like a 2 piece thing? Because I was looking at it but its hard to tell with it in a box

yea think i might just stick with the naked phone because my past experience with cases had ended he same dirt gets trapped in between phone and case and results in scratches. but i just wanted to get some different input and see if you guys had any other experiences good/bad with cases. Mike

Plus the phone is gorgeous especially with a pure Black wallpaper, why hide it

I personally have a case and screen protector for every device I own. I try to take really good care of my devices, so I'd probably be fine without them, but it's really more of a "why not?" since I can buy a good case and screen protector for just about any device around $5 shipped off eBay.

I, too, love the feel of the naked Nexus. Slim, light, I didn't want to mess that up. Then I found this:

Incipio Samsung Google Nexus S feather Ultralight Hard Shell Case, Google Nexus S Cases, Nexus S Cases, Google Nexus S, Google Nexus S Hard Shell Cases, Google Nexus S Silicone Case

Get that and a screen protector. Perfect combo. Your phone will be protected and you'll hardly notice it.

Definitely a case for me. This sucker is slippery. Although I occasionally let it go out in its birthday suit and exhibit its sexiness.

I just putchased 2 different types of cases off ebay and they fit snug.

I went with the Zagg screen protector as the glass on this phone is not gorilla glass. The Zagg comes with lifetime warranty and you can get it replaced for free when it gets scratched up.
