Help 2 questions regarding contacts

I have two questions that I can not find an answer to

1) I have duplicates of about half of my contacts list. I have deleted all of the duplicates one by one TWICE, yet every morning they are back. WTH?

2) How can I export ALL of my phone contacts to google? I have about 200 contacts but google only shows 50. I've read that you can login to your VZW account and save your contacts to a certain file type BUT when go to VZW it shows I have 0 contacts. Ive also tried going to setting>>accounts>>google account>>sync now..........but this doesn't work either

Any help is much appreciated
 
My contacts did that as well, and I traced it back to facebook. It automatically downloaded my contacts info.... I had tons of duplicates. I found that I could "join" my phone contacts with facebook contacts by highlighting the name in phone contact - menu - edit contact - menu - join and then picking which to join together. after doing that once, i havent had another duplicate. it worked for me, hope it helps.

I will do that if/when the duplicates appear again


Any answer for the other question or no? Nobody can seem to figure out whats up with it

You can turn off the Display of your Facebook contacts if you want. And it sounds to me like you saved your contacts to your phone memory. If you did this I'm not sure if there is an easy way to convert them all to google contacts.
 
If u have tango, qik or Facebook then they will sync your contacts which will create duplicate contacts. Go to settings/account and syncing and then unchecked the sync wheels.
 
It might be GMail causing your duplicates.

Log into GMail on a PC and head to the contacts tab and click the More tab and select Find & Merge Duplicates.

Tango only shows and matches which contacts have registered with Tango on your native contact list. It does not store or create new contacts and does not have access to creating duplicate contacts on your device.

3. Import the excel spreadsheet into your google account.

Or you can hand key 500 contacts into your google account online :(
