I have been unable to patch wifi tether on my DX.

Running 2.3.3, 4.5.596, 2.6.32-9 kernel.

Everytime I try to flash one of the patches, it gives me an error and won't flash.

I desperately need the tether for the next 3 days, as i'll be traveling and there isn't wifi in the hotel i'm staying.

HELP!!

Same thing happened to me before. I gave up and ended up using PDAnet.
Other option is maybe you can activate Verizon's 20/month tether plan and use for 3 days then cancel it...

Bluetooth tether still worked under GB last time I tried it... It's a piece of cake to set up, and provided your laptop (assuming that is what you want to tether) has BT, it takes only minutes.

I can't do PDAnet, as i need to tether an ipad to my phone.

Really? Through wifi tether app? Or?

I am not trying to be an ass here but I have to ask. If you are so desperate to have tether and its so urgent wouldn't your time be better spent just calling VZW and getting tether active instead of trying to skirt the system? You can just activate one of the plans and use it for a few days and then cancel and you will only pay the prorated price for the days you use it. They normally wave the activation fee as well. Fastest and easiest solution for a desperately urgent situation.

if the original issue has been resolved with the OP i would recommend this thread being closed just due to the nature of these types of threads.

threads must be closed by moderators, and the original OP should at least repost here stating their issue has been resolved, however all that can be done now is waiting it out, keeping a close eye on this thread, and maybe it will cease to come back up

Issued resolved? Ok, just to play it safe. ;)
