just flashed the latest radio, sending radio okay, writing radio okay...
what do I do now, phone is still in fastboot?
do i reboot?

thanks good to know for the future...
for info, now get H, where i used to get 3g. and wifi also seems a stronger signal.
good job...

I think read somewhere that radio does not include WiFi part.

May I quickly ask the benefits of flashing a newer Radio?

Mine appears to do the job just fine, so I have no intention of doing so. Just curious.

I think you've answered it really: people change radio in the hope it will improve performance. So if you are happy with the performance, then there's no real motivation.

Personally I've tried most of them, and the differences generally were not very large for me. But some people report larger effects.

Hi, can someone pls help me with a radio question?

My HTC Desire Bravo/GSM running HTC's official Gingerbread RUU had a radio numbered 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23 prior to rooting. I've just rooted last Saturday using Revolutionary.io, which gave me CWM Recovery v4.0.1.4 and SU v2.3.6.

I'm now running Redux v1.2. After rooting I noticed a significant drop in the wifi signal strength. Just moving from the room with the wifi router to the next room at home and the signal falls to 1 bar or completely falls off. I checked the radio and it had changed to 32.56.00.32H_5.17.05.23 i.e. the "U" had changed to "H".

Could this be the cause of the sudden drop in signal strength? What can I do to fix this?

Thank you in advance.

It shows as U on Sense roms and H on AOSP roms. Its still the same radio.

Whats your network speed like (speedtest.net or whatever?),

It may appear low but still be as fast, in which case, no problem.

Hi SUroot, thanks for your reply. Been following you on many threads. You've been very helpful to many, many people on this site.

Ran speedtest with the following results:

Ping 20ms
Download speed 2.99 Mbps
Upload speed 0.32 Mbps

I recall doing this test some months back with similar results and from my laptop I don't have any connectivity issues. It's just that the rooted HTC can't seem to hold wifi signals very well (as compared to before rooting). I'm a little confused as to what may have changed pre- and post rooting given that the hardware and radio software are unchanged.

Also, I did see another post referring to changing the kernel, but from reading online, I thought that the idea of changing the kernel was for making the battery last longer. While we are on this kernel issue, I now have the Redux kernel 2.6.37.4-redux-CFS-SVS. You had recommended going to ManU 1.4, and I wonder which kernel would be best - GB SVS-CFS or HAVS-AXI-CFS or SVS-AXI-CFS. Sorry to be hijacking this thread on radios. Many thanks for sharing your expertise. Gives people like me the courage to root our phones.
