Official Release Date Rumor Thread

Can anyone confirm whether a micro sd is included? On the AT&T site, in the memory section, it only says "up to 32g" - it does not specify how much is included.

Then, on phonearena, they show this photo of the micro sd card slot, and it is empty.

Mobiletechreview.com confirmed in a YouTube review that it does not come WITH a MicroSD card but it has 16gb internal memory..... Expandable to 40gb with a 32gb MicroSD. I recall her showing the storage space and 2gb was for apps and the rest of the memory was for pics, movies and general, after sucking up a couple gb for being formatted of course. ;)

Coming from a phone with only 512mb, that's a lot!! But I could see it being an issue for other people and something to consider when pricing the phone.

I will probably just move my 16g micro sd into this phone.

Ok, as I was driving I realized I was running late to make the 10am opening of the ATT store, so I skipped Walmart, figuring there was too great a risk of them not having it, or having a salesperson bungle the sale by messing something up with my account. I was at the ATT store as they opened. I was the first one to buy it there and 1 other person walked in to buy it while I was there. The salesman transferred all my contacts from my old phone(not sure if Walmart would have done this). My old sim card could not be used, it was actually an old Cingular sim card. I asked how many the store received and he said 5 or 6. Talking to him more I think they received 6, but an employee grabbed 1 as he said he knew someone who had been using it for 3 days I figured it was a co worker. So when I left at 10:15 they had 3 left. The display phone was setup, but there was no signage up in the windows or outside.

You superhumongousginourmousoversizedhires picture knocked this whole thread out of wack! Can you shrink it a bit?

LOL I am still reading the directions on how to use the darn thing! The GPS function is not a priority for me, so I'm sure others can evaluate it better than I could. The screen/colors are outstanding though!

If you live in a big city, best buy can go as far as to say the wal mart is in a different zip code, is more than a mile away, ect. There is no definition of the word local.
i live in atlanta and she called as 4 different walmarts in all different parts of the city but none of the walmarts had them in stock so she couldn't do the price match. i'll just wait till the end of the week whenever they do actually get them in and go back to best buy and get a refund for the difference.

There were lots of people at the ATT store when I got there, they said every single person was there to get the S2. They said they had "lots" of them in the back since they were a corporate store. I have never had an Android phone before so I am going to spend the rest of the day playing with it and setting up the way I want. I will comment on the GPS when I figure it out.

If you go to the details page for the GS2 on at&t's website, at the bottom, for the keyboard specs, it says it has touchscreen, qwerty, full keyboard, and backlit keys.
What?
It doesn't have a physical keyboard! I wonder if at&t has given any thought to the fact that that may potentially confuse customers who AREN'T obsessed with this phone.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S Glide is going to Rogers, no word about it for at&t. The pictures of it are the same ones that were used in the sgh-i927 leaks. I'm assuming it's the same phone still...but according to the leaked roadmap, at&t should've released it by now. They haven't even said anything about it. I give it until Christmas, if it hasn't even been announced by then, I'm jumping ship and switching.

Got mine! Liking it very much thus far...thing is thinner than I was picturing in my mind. lol.

I was at the store this morning when they opened, but not the first in the door. I was the 2nd one to ask for the SGS2.

Me is happy now.

So picked mine up this morning and noticed that I have a large pink spot in the middle of my camera when taking a picture. Is this problem anyone else is having?

Thanks,

AJ

had to find a white wall but yeah i have one also. i think it's a common thing and don't think it affects pictures taken.

I do too, wtf...It almost seems like it's a red light coming out of the lense

Just a little info from my buying experience today.

I just checked with a couple of corporate AT&T stores here in the south Texas area (San Antonio) and they say it's not for sale yet in this market and in some parts of California. I spoke to the store manager in one store and called another store on the phone to verify. Not to fret, Best Buy took care of me and I have the phone in hand. I had to go to two stores right after they opened and one was already out (they had two) and they called the second store to hold the last one for me. Now I've just gotta pick up a nice body glove case for it.

Picked mine up at Best Buy this morning (10AM). I was the only person there for one. In the BBuy parking lot, I paired Bluetooth to my car radio and had the phone navigate me home. I thought it did a great job and I love the satellite view in the Google Navigation. I purposely went home a different way than it wanted me to so I could see how quickly it noticed I was off course and could re-route. Within a few seconds it picked me up and rerouted (I tried this three times). I couldn't tell any difference between it and the GPS from my iPHone 4. I use a vent mount so the phone sits about even with the top of the dash and can "see" pretty well out the front window towards the sky.

I am enjoying the heck out of it and the voice commands/navigation/texting..... I put it in the driving mode and gave it the "hey galaxy". Worked great. Love it.
