Root noob questions

OK, I've been reading posts here all day (slow day at work) and I'm ready to flash my first ROM. I'm on rooted OTA .605. I've done a Ti backup and a nandroid backup. I'll try RevNumber's CM7 for GB. My questions are:

1. Do I have to SBF or I can just wipe data/cache and flash CM7 for GB using D2 bootstrap? I saw a guide mentioned that it's OK to do that, but like to confirm.
2. If I somehow screw it up I can still SBF to .602 and restore the nandroid backup. Is that right?

2. You would have to SBF to .602, Root, install .605 zip, then restore your backup.

you don't want to restore a .605 nandroid backup on a .602 build.

One more Q, once I flash CM7 for GB, can I go from there to one of the .602 or .605 ROMs without SBF? My understanding is that as long as they are all GB kernel based it's OK to do so without SBF?
