I've played around with a few different carriers prl's such as T-Mobile just to see if they would work, but where I live in N.C. they don't. Sprint does share Verizon towers in some places, so it might be possible for a few of VZW prl's to work. Its strange for a Sprint prl to not work considering Boost is owned by Sprint.
Offhand there are at least 5 different US networks: CDMA, UMTS, GSM, LTE and IDEN, I know overseas differs but I forget how.
Prevail (Boost) is CDMA (CDMA/IDEN) and should not work with other networks.
There are a few Verizon PRL's that will work with Sprint, and viceversa, but the big issue is the potential for roaming charges, and the possibility of your account being dropped if you are on a post paid account with Sprint or Verizon. I've played around with a few of the Verizon ones and only one actually connected, but the phone lost all service shortly afterwards.
T-Mobile is a GSM carrier with SIM cards and different frequencies, so chances are that T-Mobile and AT&T PRL's won't work at all. Sprint and Verizon for the most part are CDMA, except for the Nextel/Boost push to talk, so Sprint PRL's will work the best. Verizon is a hit and miss. I loaded a VZW PRL the other day and it looked really promising, but it fizzled out just as quick... I am finding a number of good PRL downloads over on XDA.
Where on XDA did you find the PRL downloads? I searched the site but couldn't find them.
I'm trying to gig up a bunch of the links, but one that has a number of PRL downloads that I Googeled and found over on XDA is http://cid-abe29f3770d8d15.skydrive...0&sa=636785150 I've used a few of the PRL's on this site and can attest that they do work.I'm not sure if some of the newest ones posted are the current PRL's though.
Give me a little bit of time and I'll find a few more links and post them on here.
I tried the link but Firefox says "server not found."
