Help Exchange calendar events showing up twice

ITFlyer

Lurker
I have my Evo 4G connected to my corporate Exchange server, for mail and calendar. It works great, except for one, really annoying thing: when I receive a meeting request via email, it instantly puts that meeting in my calendar on my phone. When I accept the meeting, it puts a second copy of the same meeting in my calendar on my phone - so I have two identical copies of the same meeting. Looking on Outlook, the meeting appears only once.

If I delete one of the two duplicate meetings on my phone, I have a 50% chance of deleting the one that is active within Outlook/Exchange - which means I end up with a meeting on my phone, and no meeting in Outlook.

I've tried deleting and re-creating my Exchange account on the phone with no change in behavior.

If I leave the duplicate meetings in the phone, the delete the Exchange account from my phone, the meetings (obviously) disappear. When I re-create the Exchange account in my phone, the duplicate meetings that were there appear normal, i.e. no duplicates. But as soon as I receive another meeting request, the problem starts right back up again.

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm sure I can't be the only one experiencing this.

Having the same issue as you, ITFlyer. It's been very frustrating. Constantly having to delete and re-setup the Exchange account to 'normalize' my calendar again. Funny thing: my iPad does not have the same problem ... syncs perfectly. I know that it's something with Android that's causing the problem.

Were you able to find a solution??

I never found a solution, but a work-around.

In the Exchange Calendar options, under Automatic Processing, there is an option:

Automatically place new meeting request on my calendar, marked Tentative

It is checked by default. I unchecked it, and it stopped doing this annoying behavior, instead only putting meetings into my calendar once I actually accepted them.
