Separation of the Samsung GS2 Section?

Maybe instead of separating the Samsung GS2 carriers and the international version why now just add a prefix to it. Like with Support, Tips, and General prefixes.

Seconded (for what it counts) - was just going to post something similar. See thread discussion the problems and issues here

Yes, because different forums can have similar threads of the same issue, just because the other people can't see it in the other carrier thread.

Well, truth be told multiple variants of a particular device or multiple carriers carrying a phone by the same name has always plagued me. I hate it and it's never easy to deal with. You have people making your case, then you have people yelling "well we need our own forum for our version" so, we just do our best.

The prefix solution would work if we weren't using support/tips/general prefixes already. Basically, if we did this solution we'd group AT&T, Sprint , T-Mobile, and International all into one forum with no seperation on tips, support, general.

I guess one option would be to use the carrier prefixes and go old school with the subforums for support/etc with carrier prefixes in there too but I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Also, a sticky that says "Can't find your solution here? Check the other GS2 forums!" is an option.

Or just leaving as is. It has worked fine thus far with previous devices.

A number of the US SGS2 would have not only different radios but also different processors and thus graphical cards. The T-Mobile SGS2 will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon, while the AT&T and the CDMA SGS2 will have the Tegra 2. The CPU will give each variant a different user experience. The Tegra 2 variants will have LTE speed. Just imagine members posting their speed test and some members are getting 20+ Mbs UL speed. My SGS2 only gives me 8 Mbs so something is wrong with my phone.

The argument could have been said with the original SGS and its variants. The AT&T SGS Captivate was plagued with the GPS issue that none of the other variants face.

The biggest issue will be with the rooting community. The SGS2 world version already have root. The threads in the All Root Forum does not specify that it is only for the international model, so I come a long and see the Root Guide. I have the SGS2 on AT&T and I want to root my phone. I don't know that my SGS2 might require a different root method and I brick my phone because the guide was not for my model.
