Ok, so i rooted my charge using Altered Beast, it was working really well, until it didn't !!
text messaging stopped working...messages were stuck on PENDING after waiting the rest of the day to see maybe it was a network issue, I decided to do a factory reset

after doing the factory reset, text messaging was fixed but there was no market application installed.

Tried installing the market apk from the web but phone wouldnt allow it (not supported)

did another factory reset using the wipe data method by getting the phone into boot mode instead of using the standard (setting/privacy/factory data reset)

The market app returned but will not download anything (all fails)

before rooting using the alteredbeast method my phone was updated to ee4

after rooting my phone is now in build number ED2

the update keeps popping up in the pulldown menu but when I try and execute it fails

I am so frustrated!! can someone help me with a step by step guide to unrooting?

or show how to update the build number?

thanks in advance

update, think I bricked my phone I only get a screen now that has a pic of a phone with a exclamation point in the middle and a computer on the right.

please help

Did you use this video step by step (except for gummy part and just did a straight up restart)? How to root/rom Droid Charge - YouTube

Also did you ever DL Rom Manager after rooting so you could have a clean install to use for a recovery?
Detailed Walk-Through of ROM Manager for Android - YouTube

Another thing would be Super User just came out with an update, dunno if you got the notice on your phone but that may help as well.

Not really sure what's going on with your phone atm as i have run without a hitch. Have you added any new apps lately that may be causing a conflict?

Did you try rebooting? Hold the power button down for a few seconds and then release it. let the phone sit for a minute. Most people kinda panic and hit things when they shouldn't (not saying you did). If that doesn't work pull the battery out and put it back in.

Side note did your image look like this? If so no worries your not bricked.

P.S. Are you using Odin 1.82? Think the package had an older version of it if you just used that for the DL. If so you should get the updated odin.

Guessing this is what your looking at so check out this post.

Also there is a ton of info about this on the xda developer boards.

Chances are yes. Because you no longer have TW installed on your phone (depends on if they actually check it or not).

Anyway i am taking a wild guess here because i don't have enough info about your phone and what you did lol.

But i am guessing you used an older version of Odin. Chances are you have the one that came in the package and didn't use the most up to date version. Even if your about to try the fixes now i would recommend you get the latest version.

Anytime you flash a phone you want to do some double checking to make sure you have the latest versions of the tools your about to use (not saying you didn't just saying). Also you want to do some research about various apps for rooted phones. Rom Manager as an example. If you had this along with a clean backup after install you would have simply been able to reflash to the older file (kinda like windows on your comp with it's auto restore).

I am guessing that you used the older version of Odin along with the older CWM (which was buggy at the time). So for future reference make sure you dot your "i's" and cross your "t's".

If for some reason your still stuck check the xda-developers.com board. Provide them with some info about what you did and what versions of software you were using and they can fix damn near anything. Don't panic because as it stands your not bricked.

UPDATE!!!!

I GOT STOCK ROM BACK! THANK YOU, JESUS!!!

Honestly i think your main problem is you were using an old version of Odin. Make sure you pick up at least ver 1.8.2. Though i think 1.8.3 is out now. For the record i used 1.8.2.

P.S. Just so you know where to go for more info.

Hello!

I finally just installed the newest version, 1.85. I'm still stuck at the downloading screen with the Android and the shevel. I'm getting the cellphone and computer image with the exclamation point in the middle as well. I've been trying to unroot for the past hour. After seeing your screenshots and information to the OP, I thought it would work now, but it hasn't and I honestly do not know where to go from there. I just want to ge this phone back to stock. I had the Humble 4.0 ROM installed. I followed these instructions..http://www.toms-world.org/android/

When it came to step #3, I didn't have the "Download Mode" option on the screen. I've been trying to Odin the EE4 file but nothing happens. I don't get a pass or fail option. Any help would GREATLY be appreciated! Thank you in advance!
