Root Velocity 1.2 Battery Life

okay so after i flashed velocity 1.2 my battery life i horrible. i get maybe 8 hours. thats with very moderate use. with heavy use i get about 5 or 6. i have speed set at 768 and not smartass. its ondemand. smartass drains even faster. I have advanced task killer. so i dont think its my background programs. anything i can do to fix this??

How long have you been using that battery? Batteries stop being able to hold a decent charge after a while.

Advance task killer doesnt help your battery life cause it runs in the background. The only task killer that doesnt run in the background that i know of is estrong task manager

crews, some batteries just suck. i had the same problem with my old battery. bought a new one, and hit one day at LEAST. try buying a new battery off amazon. they're cheap.

^^ What he said. Not all batteries are created equal (don't ask me why), and they do wear out over time. So just get a new one, they're cheap so I got two. I have my main battery and I carry the other one around with me either in my car/laptop bag/suitcase etc., just in case I find myself out of power and away from a charger.

My battery life wasnt as good in 1.2 as it was in 1.1 all things (installed apps, cpu scaling etc.) equal. I ended up going back to 1.1 for the time being due to this and some other minor issues

same here.
but I did take the tasty theme and "back port it" to 1.1

I would LOVE the 1.2 theme on 1.1, sorry to hijack the thread but is this a zip file posted somewhere that I can download?

thanks for the info. uninstalling task manager now. and while i have the chance can i ask why my internal memory is less than half on stormdroid than when on velocity.. all my downloaded apps are on my sd card.. so idk where the memory is going. any ideas?

Whoaaa, this is my first post in like a month. Anyhow, i dont think stormdroid uses dalvik to cache, you can find darktremors apps2sd script and turn off apps2sd and use dalvik2cache, i did this before velocity started using it. But it can have its problems. On a side note, i havent had a chance to try velocity 1.2 or stormdroid yet. Gotta download when i get home, cant wait to try them out.

Same issues, battery dies way faster than it did a week ago, cant be the battery because it was not this bad in 2.1... Also noticed the phone feels much warmer now and Im not OC at all

I'm not having any battery issues with Velocity 1.2, actually lasts longer and I'm now overclocked to 806 with smartass governor when before it was just stock 600 with smartass. Now when I installed Velocity 1.2 I went overboard - I added programs into the zip file that I wanted to be in Rom, and then I wiped everything, not once, not twice, but three times to be sure everything got cleared ( I know a little overboard ). I also wiped the battery stats from recovery on the last time after making sure it was fully charged before installing the Velocity 1.2 zip (after turning off signature ), I go from around 7 to 7:30 in the morning to around midnight or later and usually still have around 30 - 40 percent left depending on how heavy I use it ( I'm not a power user by any means ), I have had it drop to 12 percent once but I had been using wireless tether in a restaurant so my son's Ipod could access the Internet. And I do not have a extended battery ( I'm too cheap to pay that much :) besides my phone was free as it's a company phone - my phone but gotten through company clout for the free discount ) Just my two cents on this....
