Help can I save to the internal memory on the sensation?

Hello people I just got my htc sensation today and I noticed that when I hook it up to my computer I only see the drive for my microsd drive and not a box for my phones internal memory. My question is, is there a way to save to the internal memory on the phone or are we limited to only saving music and files on the micro sd card? thanks in advance.

M

Yes you can save to the phone memory, by default, when you download apps, music etc, it will save to the internal memory. You can use something like ES File Explorer to browse your phone & sd card memory and use something like Moveapps to assist in moving apps to the sd card to free up internal memory as required.

Uh, no that's not right at all!!!

By default, anything you download (apart from apps) goes to the SD card. The internal memory is for apps and their data only

Not sure what happened in my case then, I had to manually transfer my music files to the SD card as they had initially gone into the internal memory

Can't have, literally impossible as the internal memory is only used by apps/app data/personal data regarding your apps and/or phone

all I know is with my last two android phones is when I connected them to the computer two drives would pop up one for the phones internal memory and one drive for the sd card. Now with the sensation it only pops up one box and that is for the SD card only. That was the reason for my initial question. why isn't a box popping up for the phone's internal memory?

My previous Android phone was an HTC Hero and that only showed the SD card. HTC has HTC Sync that is used to Sync lots of info between phone and PC. If I want to install an app using an .apk file I just put the .apk file the SD card in Disk Mode and then run it to install the app. The app will go wherever it is programmed to be put, usually in the phone memory.

However as others have said you can move most apps to the SD card - menu > settings > applications > manage applications.

the thing is I want to do the opposite. some things I want to store on the phone's internal memory "not" move it to the sd card. thanks for your response.

As has already been said the apps usually install in the phone's memory as standard anyway. But you cannot and should not put data in there. It will not take much to fill it. And there is no real benefit at all in doing so.

Remember the Sensation is not like other Android phones (such as the Motorla Axiom) which have large amounts of built in data storage, and therefore does not need an SD card. The Sensation is designed to work with an SD card and only has 1Gb of Internal storage.

So not sure why you would want to do this.

As said, it cannot be done. Any personal information/data goes on the SD card and the SD card only

I know that the sensation is not like other android phones. I upgraded to this from from a htc incredible which by default allowed me to store info onto the phones internal memory. the reason why I would want to store info onto the phones memory is because it allows more space on my SD card which means I wouldn't have to go out and spend extra cash on a larger SD card, that is the reason why I would want to do that. I know that the sensation has a small internal memory storage which really sucks and forces people to have to go out and dish out cash for a larger SD card.

Internal memory as good as most (but not all) other smartphones.

The way I look at it is that this phone is going to cost you upwards of
