Lol, I remember the FedEx truck incident- panic overload on the forums:eek:

I think that TxGoat and jikhead are right on. For the most part, it's a marketing gimmick. Since sound preference is based on the perception of the listener, some will notice a difference and like or dislike it, others won't even be able to tell. We'll get some ear buds and a few software tweaks that change the way the audio processor decodes and plays the audio. The audio processor itself is part of the Qualcomm S3 chipset, so I don't expect Beats will result in any internal hardware changes to the Vigor versus other phones with the S3. This means that the differences with and without Beats will likely be nothing spectacular.

I think it will be similar with what was on the Tbolt and Inc2. Both phones had SRS WOW audio treatment. It did give it a more robust sound, mostly due to low and high frequency enhancement. On some songs it definitely helped, but on others I found the bass tweaking to be too much, muddying the sound a bit.

So I doubt it will be something that you leave on constantly, unless it has adaptive software that adds it where necessary. Also if there are indeed beats headphones included it may tailor the sound since it knows the freq. response of the headphone's drivers. We'll just have to wait and see.

No, it's more than something- great find! Rezound/Vigor is now officially in Verizon's device management system. Let the leaks resume, and the launch date arrive!! NOW!!!!!!!!:D

So do you think this means it's going to launch as the Rezound? I'm not loving that name so much!! LOL

Oh, baby!!!!!!!

Hey Casey, haven't seen you for a while- the first 18 months with the Incredible went by pretty quickly, eh?

If I had to guess, I'd say Rezound. It's my least favorite of any name that's been connected to this phone. But, both HTC and Verizon trademarked Rezound in September, and this is the second time we've seen it in an internal Verizon system. :(

On the other hand, Verizon's own web site refers to it as Vigor by HTC, and HTC did trademark Vigor in 2007. So I guess anything's possible.

Either way, I'll be getting this sucker on launch day no matter what they call it!:D:eek:

(Holding unopened envelope to forehead... ) It will launch one week from today.
Most awesome comment EVER!! Anyone that drops a carson reference is A-OK to me!

Was finally getting used to Vigor being the name... like it better than rezound for sure. But as long as it gets released i'll be fine...

But lets get some more leaks!! Come on, tell all your friends! DO IT DAMNIT!! :D

btw, quick comment/vid from htc guy about beats audio shown off on the sensation xl... Hands-on with the HTC Sensation XL

Same here. Getting even more pumped now that there's a bit more chatter going on now. Been glued to this site like crazy and it is tough when there's not a lot going on. Bring on the leaks!

Tell me about it. As you can see, I've even stooped to repeatedly searching the same terms on Verizon's web site just looking for something! What's that saying- the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result?:eek::D:D

I'm sick of the Prime getting all of the love...it's about time some new information on THIS beast came our way...MORE PLEASE!

Amen sir!!

Perhaps we need to hijack that nexus thread... lololol

I look forward to some sweet accessories. Bought my car dock prior to release of the Bolt, so I'm hoping the same happens for this phone.

Yes, it's gone quickly! Mine is in awesome shape too...all with no case and no screen protector! My DH is patiently waiting for me to get a new phone, so he can have it and get rid of his awful Ally! LOL

I too will get it launch day...regardless of the name!!!

i sell phones at walmart and i talked to my verizon rep today.
i asked him if he heard anything on when the vigor is going to launch and he said he heard the first week of next month.
and that the prime will be launching before the vigor.

I am interested to see if these phones do launch as your rep told you. FWIW, everyone with first-hand knowledge of the Galaxy Nexus, and who has posted/tweeted about it (i.e., people who are close enough to Google/Samsung/Verizon to have actually used one) has said that November 3 is the actual launch date. I know there were rumors of 10/27, but the evidence at this point seems to be heavily favoring 11/3. That said, 11/3 is the first Thursday of next month. If your rep was right that the Galaxy Nexus is launching first, it looks like mid-November for the Rezound at the earliest, and rules out a launch on the first Thursday of next month.

How well do you know your rep? Any chance he was confused or had out of date information? Droid Life just posted shots of Verizon's Device Management System listing these devices as Galaxy Nexus and Rezound, not Prime and Vigor.

Now, it occurs to me that something isn't right about the Rezound posting- it shows Rezound as being a global phone. This is not possible based upon the FCC filing, which only showed testing and antennas for LTE, EV-DO, CDMA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I just checked the FCC site, and no amendments have been filed to the original paperwork revealed on 9/9/11.

Here are the links to the DM screen shots and articles:

Samsung Galaxy Nexus

HTC Rezound

What's your take on this as someone who sells Verizon phones? Is it possible that your rep was talking about a delayed launch via indirect locations versus corporate locations/web? Any info on the Rezound in your system yet that you can share with us?

Thanks

Ally? Yuck. I do feel for the man. Bring on the wheteverthisphoneisgoingtobecalled! Someone needs saving from an Ally!

And that would be....

I didn't want to ruin the surprise for you. ;)

Tx Goat is talking about the Stratosphere which was released today. A nice mid-tier 4G option for some folks. It's up for ordering now.

Yeah, I periodically check the new phones section (the back story: mostly because the 5th Thunderbolt refurb that Verizon has sent me is just as flaky as the other 4. Granted they're getting better with seating the front glass in place correctly but the phone they sent me looked as though someone didn't bother replacing the outside plastics so there were a couple of scuff marks on it, which I'm not going to send in my phone which the screen goes black on occasion, for a phone that is in worse outward physical condition than mine.) so that I can be a reasonable Verizon customer and can tell their customer service department what phone I want to replace my TB with. I'm waiting to see if they get some Bionic refurbs, but what's odd is they don't seem to have many Thunderbolt refurbs anymore.

How are you basing your comment from that article and picture? Neither the article nor the picture reference anything regarding it's radio's and whether it's global or not. The picture actually shows zero information. The only thing in the pic are the headers. So again, how are you basing it says it's a global phone?

EDIT: My bad, I see Kellex updated the post with an updated pic...and I hadn't reread that post since this afternoon. So nevermind!!!!

^^^No problem. Now that I think about it, do you know how Kellex gets that this is a global phone from the entry "O"? I thought that entry should only be "Y" or "N?" Maybe he is interpreting that wrong, as in (O)ther or the number 0 (for no information). Anyone here have experience reading Verizon Device Management screens?

I can ask my brother, but it will have to wait til the morning as I know he's asleep.

Would you mind? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to know. If Verizon is really expecting a global device, that would certainly explain a delay- the phone will have to go through additional certification with the FCC. I really don't think it's possible though since this phone has the MDM9600.

Oh, and I think I speak for many on this thread when I say: If your brother can safely pass any other information on for you to share about this phone's release we would really appreciate it.:D

Thanks

He usually knows very little and won't do certain things to jeopardize his job. I'm surprised he let me take pics of the bionic that I posted up week before release, and at Droid life.

I don't think any of us would want to put your brother's job at risk. If any information can be provided safely- great. If not, I for one would rather find the information out later on then know that someone got disciplined or fired in trying to satisfy my curiosity.

I am really curious about the "O" or "0" in the Device Management screen though, especially with what we know about this phone from the FCC.
