anandtech benchmarks

It's impressive. I have an ipad 2 and I think it is extremely fast and it also has 512kb RAM (allegedly).

I've had this sgs2 for a week now and considering the fact I started with a Samsung Moment then went to Captivate I am extremely impressed with every aspect of this phone. It actually has little to do with Android, I think the camera, messaging, speed, screen and design etc. are what make this phone so amazing. But, I liked my iphone 4 enough that the upgrades and Siri in the 4s are enough for me to go back to ios. I wish Samsung and Apple would make mobile sex and have a baby because they imo are the leaders in mobile and its not even close.

Edit: I wouldn't count out Nokia yet
 
Galaxy tab with Tegra 2+honeycomb barely beat the iphone 4S in the sunspider benchmark and barely lost in the browser benchmark. Galaxy S2+ice cream sandwich should beat the iphone 4S pretty easily in those 2. Graphics wise iphone 4S is the best phone at the moment.

With the stock browser on my S2, running the sunspider .91 version of the benchmark, I get a score of 1630; with Opera, 1639, with Firefox beta I scored 1380

With my iPhone 4 with iOS 5, the phone scored 3593 on the same benchmark. Opera hung trying to run the benchmark on the iPhone


I won't have a 4S available until Sunday. The results posted by xwing seem to be dead on.

So basically they're FOS and posted scores to purposely make the 4s look better. Nice!
 
You guys should test the camera speed (quality is tbd obviously) on sgs2 vs 4s, holy shit I'm amazed right now. I definitely don't think 4s is faster for web browsing.

Picked up the 32GB 4S for my son yesterday. Score on the benchmark test was 2226, so the SGS II is still ~ 25% faster.

Also did some ad hoc camera comparisons, relative to speed of the shot. The 4S was faster than the 4, but about the same speed as the SGS II. The Apple interface is a bit easier to use, probably due to the smaller size of the package, but not a reason to switch.
