can any atrix user verify ----if the finger print reader fails then u can use alpha numric password to gain access. The only reason i want atrix is finger print reader but if it uses pin code as back up then there is no use of buying atrix. Second, finger print reader will have problems now or then , so a back up access like pin code access is essential but am conerned about alpha numeric password as the back up access to have inreased security. plus, does atrix have the option to use both -- like first u scan ur finger then u will have enter the alpha numeric pasword only then u can gain access.

Yes, there IS a pin code you must set as a backup when using the fingerprint reader... Either will gain you access to the phone (FP Reader or PIN).

Yes you can use the numeric password instead of pin code.

No - it is just a numeric pin, not alpha numeric.

Or you could use the pattern security option and turn off showing the successful drawing

Personally, I feel that the Finger Print Scanner backed up by the Drawing is the way to go. Much quicker.
