If you can figure this out.when i do a google search i press the box to start typing, the keyboard pops up,now when i press the arrow button or hit a recent search, the keyboard stays on the screen.this happens about 75%of the time.i called verizon they put it through the ringer hard resets etc it still does it,they wanna send me a refurbished bionic, alot of times the refurbished phone is worse than the one you sent in,does anyone have any ideas?.thanks

Have you tried hitting the back button on the phone (the one that looks like a u-turn arrow?

Long-pressing the menu key will toggle the keyboard - if it's there when you don't want it, try long-pressing menu.

Some keyboards will let you swipe down to dismiss them as well. (Swiftkey X, for example, will let you do this.)

Even long pressing the menu button doesnt drop the keyboard.do you think i should just have them send me a refurb?

This happens to me too sometimes. If holding the menu doesn't work, hold the home button down till it brings up your last few selected apps. Then press press the back button and the keyboard should drop down.

This rarely happens to me but when you do experience this, try clicking on the address bar (once the browser loads). The screen should go away if it doesn't then the "back" button should allow the keyboard to go away.

I can make the keyboard drop down by hitting the menu button twice, but this happensabout everyother search its just kind of annoying do you think in the november patch this will stop,i figure its gotta be a software issue

What happens if you use an alternate browser, such as Dolphin? How about an alternate keyboard, such as Swiftkey X?

I tried using different keyboards and it still does it but I haven't tried another browser I'll give that a shot, thanks

Doogald,i downloaded dolphin and its working great! so far no problems, thanks again.

Good news. I think that Dolphin is a better browser anyway. In particular for me, because I use the Lastpass password manager and Lastpass has a plug-in for Dolphin. It wasn't so great on my old lower-res Eris, but it's great on the Bionic.

There are other great browsers as well - Opera Mini will use less data, for example.

Yea on my original Droid I used opera mini religiously, its a great browser, I think one of the fastest if not the fastest.I downloaded dolphin just to try something new so far I like it.
