Help How to keep the softkey buttons illuminated

My mom keeps complaining that the light times out too quickly for the softkey buttons on her Galaxy S 4G.

Is there a way to make the softkey buttons stay illuminated when the screen is on? Or at least stay on longer?

Go to Settings>Display>Touchkey light duration. Choose which option suits her the most...1.5 seconds, 6 seconds, Always off, Always on.

I can't find a setting for touchkey light display on my mom's phone. This its a stock Galaxy S 4G running Android 2.2.1 and Touchwiz (not sure which version).

Oops.

I saw Galaxy S 4G and assumed it was like my phone....the Galaxy S2 4G Touch with android 2.3.4. I'm relatively new to the Samsung Galaxy phone family and didn't realize how close all these names are. In looking up accessories for my phone, I'd think I'd found something only to discover that is was for the Galaxy S 4G and not for my S2 Touch phone.

It's nuts.
