Official Release Date Rumor Thread

Got my case from TPU-Cases.com today, and it says it's for both the i9100 and Attain. The little cardboard insert is even a pic of the i9100. Does this mean the 2 are pretty much the exact same? I'd much rather get an Otterbox over this cheesy little case, and I know Otterbox hasn't made one specifically for the Attain yet.

Well the ballistic case I order on ebay for 22.50 shipped arrived it looked official. Here is a pic. It can be resized for a closer look. The back and sides are well covered but no protection for the glass.

Are they all like that? Maybe I am paranoid. I will order a outter box from him for 22.50 and see what that looks like overall I am happy considering at&t wanted 35.00 The only thing is I feel I need the outterbox 5 layer because I am rough.

Here is the guy I bought it Monday it arrived today.

FWIW, I dropped my Epic several times, with no case, and no screen protector, onto asphault, concrete..you name it. And I only had 1-2 extremely minor scratches on the screen after a whole year. This gorilla glass really holds up!

For those asking about cases, I purchased one at the AT&T store.
The brand is "AGR". I picked it because I hate bulky cases and this phone is so thin and light, I didn't want to detract from it.
I have found that that this case fits so tight that you have to make sure you put the phone in straight and once it's in you have to push the sides over the edges of the phone. very snug. I've even dropped the phone (which hit my foot and bounced about 4 times under my truck! ) and had no damage to the phone or case! I've had this case for a week now and I still think it's an excellent choice.

here are some pics of it.

Here it is, two weeks after the national release of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II and AT&T flatly refuses to sell this phone or any accessories in San Antonio and much of south Texas and despite my best efforts no one can tell me why - anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

Have you tried Amazon or ordering online from Costco or walmart? Those are my only suggestions.

My apologies. I should have asked "Does anyone have any idea as to why AT&T is not selling this phone in this market?" and "Where can I examine cases for my Samsung Galaxy S II phone?"

I was fortunate in buying the phone at Best Buy on the day of the release, but am greeted only by shrugs when I ask about accessories at AT&T and Best Buy, even after two weeks. Yes, I know I can purchase the accessories online, but I'm curious about AT&T's decision and would like to see the cases for myself before purchasing one.

My purchase went as follows...

I got mine the Saturday after the release date from Radio Shack. The local AT&T store did not have the phone, and Rat Shack had to pick it up from another location 20 miles away, as it was the only one in the area. I was not intending on buying it from The Shack, but that was my only option. They were very helpful, I went in on Friday and they found one for me, picked it up and I had it on Saturday.

FYI for those that bought theirs at Best Buy. Radio Shack has an ad that started sunday oct 16 for the samsung galaxy s 2 at&t for 179.99. I was able to price match and get the credit. It is only 20 bucks not the 148.00 at wallmart earlier but 20.00 is 20.00. Thats a case.

Thanks for the info. I waited until the local Walmart had the GSII in stock (just in case the Best Buy called and checked). I brought my Walmart on-line printout to show them. The Best Buy person said Walmart on-line prices are often different from the in-store prices, called, and sure enough, in store was $198. I knew Costco is suppose to get them very soon (in store) so I asked if they would match Costco and they said yes. If Costco falls through then I can use the Radio Shack deal to get $20 back.

AT&T corporate store in Houston told me it was because they wanted to stock the LTE phones coming next month. I failed to ask if the LTE S2 would be among them. I called AT&T upgrade depth and asked them to price match Amazon's $149.99 price. They did, waived the upgrade fee, and shipped it over night for free.

I can't believe at&t is charging 20.00 for text messaging. Talk about strong arm tactics. People waiting for the sg2 got screwed if they weren't grandfathered in. That is probably why there was a delay. I am serious thinking of returning it and going to sprint due to the price gouging. 240.00 a year
