Fix for camera delay?

Has anyone found a way to correct the 1/2 second delay after pressing the camera button until it takes the picture? I've searched the settings menu, to no avail.

Searching the matter on Google didn't turn up any results, which makes me wonder if it's just my phone...

remember the first time you open your camera app it'll take longer to respond. So if you close it and re-open it, it'll open up faster. 1/2 second isn't bad compared to the Thrill and Bionic's 2-3 seconds.

I hold the camera button, focus then release. The delay is barely noticeable. I was getting action shots of my kids jumping into a corn pool this weekend. When i just pressed the shutter they had already landed. If i held the shutter and let go when they jumped i got some great shots.

Thanks, TS. I'll give that a try, as well as open the camera app early, if I think I want to take pics.
