How do I change the way the battery look?
How do I figure out if I have .602 or what.
Thanks for your time.

whoa there cowboy....Lol.....looks like you are completely new to the world of Droid X. I would suggest reading all 3 stickies at the top of this forum before you begin doing anything to your phone.

Knowledge is power my friend. Once you have read through this material come back and ask questions on what you do not understand and we will be more than happy to assist you further.

The DX has a bit of a learning curve so I would suggest you play around with it for a few weeks first. While you're doing that keep reading our stickies to become familiar with the words and lingo you're gonna hear pertaining to your phone.

No Im not new to my droid x I have had it for about 7 months. Im just new to rooting. Ive done some jailbreaking with some Ipod touches but this is just different. I have read the stickeys but im not finding how to install the roms. I found a list of roms but not how to install them. like what programs do I need to install them and any add ons that I need bc when I run rom manager it just reboots my phone and it doesnt go into recovery. But when i asked what are roms i meant how do they differ from themes. sorry i wasnt clear

Roms are the operating system where as themes just change colors and icons in said Rom. Installing a Rom is done by following the instructions found on the Rom download page.

Most Rom are installed after you root of course and using an app called Droid2 Bootstrap. Flashing new Roms can be tricky. this is why you have to follow the instructions on that Roms page because the process is different from Rom to Rom.

Keep in mind with 2nd init Roms you will use Droid2 Bootstrap to install them but NEVER use D2 Bootstrap after they are installed. You will break the init and have to SBF your phone. Saying you run Rom Manager and it just reboots you phone doesn't help. What are you running now? What are you trying to Flash?

Do I need droid 2 bootstrap or the droid x bootstap? I dont have either. That could be why it rom manager isnt working. Im running .605 rooted and im trying to run liquid v 3.0. Well when I try to make a back up or install a rom instead of going into recovery it just reboots as normal.

you can use d2 or dx bootstrapper, d2 bootstrapper you just use and go
dx bootstrapper you have to uncheck usb debugging whenever you use it, and then check it back when the phone has rebooted

New problem arose. I finally got liquid smooth installed and i couldnt find my back up assistant so I tried to sbf it bricked finally got it right but i sbf'ed .602 and when i try to update back to up to .605 it says not enough space on device to store the incoming file but i have plenty. I also cant download any apps from the market either. and the market wont update.
