is their anyway to change the camera app( by adding it in recovery) in the droid x to get better picture quality or is it the camera itself that causes it to take bad pics. just curious

The camera itself is great. the problem is with the blur camera software. It's crap. I use Vignette personally And I have to say it takes much better pics.

Just tried the MIUI camera on CM7 and it's a lot better than blur or the stock CM7 (I think it's the original google one) camera. So if you are already on MIUI or CM7 then I definitely recommend it. If you aren't I recommend giving one of those 2 roms a try.

My fiance just got the Samsung Stratosphere, and I have to say, I love the camera on that device. It has an option that allows you to touch the screen while open and the camera focuses on that spot. Anybody no if this camera app can be ported over to the DX or if there is an app out there like it?

I have tried all the apps, the shots came out the same. If your camera can't take a decent picture in a well lit area while you hold it still, it maybe broken. I have taken many that made people swear were by a good point and shoot.
