Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 Huawei M835

Its weird mate35 is just the default stock rom but when I unzip it can see all the custom logos and what not...but when I reboot I get that stupid metropcs hello hello hello. Did I do something wrong

with root explorer, nav to cust/metro/us, and del media.

thx kinda feel like a ****** now...n i was lookin at it too like wtf is that for? but with that aside works like a charm :D

I believe its some sort of protection for certain files. Kinda like how files on a PC can be "read only" for security reasons, such as deleting or modifying it by accident.
 
get root explorer and go into your system folder then media or boot animation folder i cant remember exactly where. once your in one of the folders you can play the music files till you find the metro sound and just rename it...dnt forget to hit mount button on root explorer..



It might also be here cust/metro/us, and del media
 
So I installed this and every time i try turning my wifi on it just says "error" and when i launch the camera it shows a white screen where the picture preview is supposed to be at. Everything else works fine but those two, is there any fix for it?
Those two things are are big deal breakers for me. And if im not misunderstood the ascend roms can be used on this phone as well? Ive been reading comments and people are saying they do. If not which phones roms can be used on this phone?

My camera is working perfectly fine but as far as wifi we all are waiting for dat issue to get fixed

the cust partition shouldnt affect anything in CM ;)

But the bootanimation.zip is found in system/media.
 
Playfulgod ive been trying to gey thid to work for three days more but everytime I flash cm7 it go's on my phone and I keep getting the force close message android.process.media amd when I try to download anything off tje internet it gives me tgat message and dissent let the download start and i still can't figure out the whole market thing please pleaser pleaser just tel me what I have to do so I can enjoy cm7 finnally ive ent searching for days but nothing is making sense to me
 
now im at a computer and its easyier for me to type and explain whats going on. i started messing with my phone doing the root thing etc. and a couple of weeks ago i fiund out and read enough to understand rom but i used rom manager to install cm7 to my phone and the way i did it witch may be the wron yay was i dowloaded the file ans the apps fiile and then opend cm7 in rommanager and it installed but the only problem i had was when i was on the internet i couldent download any files and i kept getting the error message prosssec.andriod.media and the option would be to forsle close but it happened every single time AFTER i woulod click on a file to downlaod. but would also happen sporadicly and very very often ther wife thing im not worried about really that much but i love the rom and turns my phone from trash to trreasure if you could be so kind to at the most write me a little and i mean very blunt so iy doesent take up hardly any of your time. or aT the least just tell me what im doing wrong and how to do it write and also when i pick what phone model to flash i pick the ascend please please pleaSE PLEASE PLEASE REALLY GIVEME SOME ADVIVE ON WHATI GOTTA DO i just obviously i have a m860 rooted and all i want to do is have cm7 on it(sorry for the capitol letters i accidently hit caps lock)plaese just tell me what im missing and not doing right...... thank you so much in advance

Sounds like you need to boot into CWM and wipe everything but the sdcard and reflash the ROM, gapps, and metroff.
 
would it be too much to ask to ask how I would exactly boot into cw and wipe everything cuz I've no clue how to do that. if you can do that for me I would appreciate it but if you can't I understand you already answered my question and I don't wanna take up too much if your time. I just wanna get this working so bad you do not understand how much I wanna have c m 7 on my phone. ellie just let you know in philly everyone knows about you and thinks your a king.
 
Ok... hey all, new to the forums, not new to modding, but by no means an expert. I've got a couple of finer points I'd like to add, toss around, w/e.

Unless you are up for a ramble, skip on down lol.

I'm testing/tweaking/pushing through several diff ROMs with any compatibility at the moment. Ascend ROMs, U8150 ROMs, etc. Having tested Mate35 (Thanks PG, I tweaked it to my personal taste and is my permanent backup ROM!), CM7 that Uptnolaboy uploaded, and PG's build, so far PG is definitely in the running for my #1. I have CWM 3.0.0.5 on my partition, and saved backups for those 3 so far, just for comparing/flipping. This build runs like a dream. Wifi is only a consideration when I'm at home, which is rare since I work 60+ hrs a week, so it does the job 99% of the day. I flip back to my Mate35 @ home for updating or tweaking.

That having been rambled off---
TL;DR --- I play a lot with ROM flashing lol

I spend a lot of idle time at work, etc where I could possibly help. The big two questions I got are for you, PG.

1. Is it possible to look @ or compare wifi settings while ON the phone? I ask cuz I can swap pretty liberally between the 3 roms I mentioned on the fly, so a) if I can and b) know what I'm looking for, I might be able to throw some data your way if it would help you? I'm no modding expert, but I know my way around file structures and such.

2. Is CWM 3.0.0.5 for Ascend as high as we can safely go? I know theres a 3.6 or something out now, and I dunno if it was safe to flash over as my new recovery.img since it's not a M835 recov in the first place.

Sorry for the long post XD tryin to be helpful and cram before im off to work and cant type ALL that lol!

For the M835 Philadelphia, hold volume up and the green/left call button when powering on, it should auto-boot into CWM if its on there. Just choose wipe data/factory reset (it's the 3rd option down if i recall correctly) and then go to advanced options and choose wipe dalvik cache.

Also... since you said you have a M860, you should really head over to the Ascend forum, since that's for your phone and the people there will be much more able to help, aside from PG of course. ;)

no that was a typo I have an 835. and thank you for the I help cause I would never knew how to do that and hopefully I can get this to work because I'm killing myself over it.
