Help Micro sd help

Newbie
When I try to transfer music over to my Micro Sd it says that it's "write protected" I already tried to switch the switch on the side of the adapter but it still doesn't work. need help asap Thanks :D

Switch? What switch?
Its only the big SD cards that have write protection switches on them

Have you got much stuff on there or have you always had this problem?
If not, I would try formatting it

If you do, then open it up as mass storage on your PC and look at the properties. Perhaps your music folder has been set to read-only

I've seen this occasionally on cheap USB SD card readers, and it usually comes down to one of two things:

  • The read-only slider on the micro-to-SD adapter is loose and gets pushed into the read-only position when the card is inserted.
  • The switch that is supposed to close when inserting a SD card with the slider in the read-write position doesn't close, either because of dirt or a bent contact.
Either condition is fixable with the right tools.

Ok, so if we are talking about putting it into an adaptor, then have you tried it without using an adaptor (ie. plug your USB cable into the phone itself)

Yeah, I tried that but when I go to external memory, there's nothing there, when there is stuff there. Its not the adapter's fault, the switch doesnt move around.....
